Welcome to my guide for gearing up for raids. This guide is designed to show a complete list of useable priest gear that is obtainable without ever setting foot in a raid. If there is any gear that I have missed or possibly mis-prioritized, please feel free to post a comment; I'll take it into consideration.
It has been mentioned before that I favor crit over haste in my gear selection. This is because all three classes want more crit than haste in thier total stats; however, that doesn't mean one should skip haste completely. A good haste goal is 328 (10%) for all 3 raiding specs.
Edit: This guide is out of date, and I currently have no desire to make a new one since getting gear at 80 has become a joke. Spam heroics; when you think you're done, you probably can spam more heroics.

A consecutive list of all Priest GlyphsDisciplineHoly3 glyphs, 5 choices. You must decide based on your unique healing style.
ShadowMinorPriests don't really have any good minor glyphs, with only 1 "required" glyph.
You pretty much can choose your next two, depending on what you think will bennifite you out the most.

I won't say which gems to get, because everone needs different stats. Try to use a gem to reach a soft cap in an area if you need to, or aim for whatever helps your current self out the most. I usually place a orange gem in a yellow socket and a purple gem in a blue socket.
Furthermore, there are no epic gems in here. None of this gear is worth the value of socketing an epic imo (unless your a JC).
Red GemsYellow GemsBlue GemsPurple GemsOrange GemsGreen Gems- Don't get any green gems. The bonuses they give you are worthless in compared to the other gems. However, if your tight on gold, green gems can be a cheap alternative to not socketing anything. Also, they may be used for meta bonuses, however, I don't recommend it.

Only nit I'll pick is the meta gem recommendation. I'm usually the first person to take sp over mp5, but quite frankly the mana return from
Insightful far outweighs the meager crit and sp stats provided by the alternatives.
Taking
Insightful's regen proc into account, you'd have to be at almost 5k intellect before the 2% bonus on
Ember reached Insightful's capabilities.
Even though I might not need the regen, it's way too much to pass up for 25 sp.

You forgot this.
hmm...guess I did forget it. Thanks!
very nice list aldones cheers! its all easily obtainable and a realistic start up. i have one thing to add to disco glyphs. i personally dont use penance glyph OMG I KNOW DONT SAY IT!
lol seriously i might take it after the next patch. i use Glyph og PoH instead. i use PoH alot and an added bit of healing as a hot after i cast it is quite nice. (or for the rare occasion im picking up raid heals) i find it adds more versatility to disco on the whole. while 2 secs reduced penance cd is nice i dont feel it gives me as much of an edge or versatility as the PoH glyph does. just a thought is all. (i know 99% of disc priests will scream use penance glyph but imo glyphs almost realy come down to persaonl playstyle)
I agree that glyph style is based on user preference, however, I'm not going to change simply b/c most people will benefit from the shorter CD more. My list is not law, anyone can feel free to do what they want. Thanks for the suggestion though. I agree though, I tend to use the PoH way to often in pugs...
