I think all feral druids would agree, this is almost the perfect tanking ring.

AC, STA, Res is a fantastic combination. The resilience works well with the SotF talent to further reduce our chance to be crit in PvE.

I think the only way a ring could be made better for tanking would be to add dodge rather than resilience.

I'd say this is more geared toward Feral Druids, but this is a great item for protection warriors and people who dig PVP.

+Defense gives you dodge/parry in addition to crit avoidance, but resilience shouldn't be ignored for tanking since it provides more crit protection per point, and also lessens the damage dealt by critical hits. Really important.

I have tanked Rampage three times now and twice this ring dropped. Since I was the only tank I got it both times :) Nice combo with Mark of Tyranny and Smoking Heart of the Mountain, that's a lot of armor in bear (yes, feral druid ^^)

This ring is perfect if you wish to do level 60 Alterac Mountians pvp with the maximum Outland loot available.

Guess I am unlucky, but I have druid-soloed him about 10 times now in the past week and have had everthing drop except the damn tanking ring! Ironsole Clompers seem the most common. Not sure if the ring has become a rarer drop recently? <sigh>

This dropped last night for me, and I was really out dated on rings (till was wearings Seal of Wyrnn) So I asked for it and got it. I am a Warlock and though the armor is unnecessary the Stam and resi(or PvP) is nice.

Part of some "pre-70 blue resilience gear" for all you pvp-ers who want to wait in a dungeon queue. Most of it seems to be itemized towards tanks (heavy use of stam).

Talisman of Tenacity
Broxigar's Ring of Valor (Will replace your clan ring, if you're only looking for resil or are a melee dps-er)
Durotan's Battle Harness (I guess blizz has a thing for plate and resil.)
Pauldrons of Sufferance (Finally, one for us clothies :)

If you are plate melee DPS and have gemmed everything with +20 resil, this will net you a total of 177 resil. You will get more from gemming other various pieces of gear with said Mystic King's Amber. If you are a JC, I suppose you'll get and extra 42 from having 3 Mystic Dragons Eye.

For the clothies out there, you'll only get to 145 resil. This is ASSUMING that you will equip Broxigar's Ring of Valor, which I highly recommend NOT doing. Again this is assuming use of Mystic King's Amber in the two slots you are getting.

Finally, for all you other leather and mail- wearers, you'll only net 105 resil, assuming you use the Broxigar's Ring of Valor, which 9/10 times I will recommend not doing. Sadly, you will not receive any gem slots from this gear.

177 resil is roughly 4.17% at 69.

I am totally aware that there are some crappy greens out there from questing and what not that also provide resil. I don't think, however, that a mere 7 resil from an item like Survivalist's Wand is worth wasting a lot of time for, sadly.

All these items with resilence on them that drop in dungeons were originally (with the BC release) meant to help tanks to reach their crit-immunity.

In BC Tanks didn't have a built-in crit-immunity via talent. They all started with 0% crit-immunity and the goal was to get 5.6% to become crit-immune vs raid bosses or at least 5% for heroic dungeons.
That could be done by either stacking defense rating (removed nowadays) or -new in BC- resilence. Defense rating increased dodge, parry, block chance and the player's defense as well as the chance to be missed by the enemy but required a lot more points to reach the crit-immunity.

Resilence was a PVP stat that -back then- reduced the chance to be critically hit by players or NPCs. That means: A fully PVP geared tank was crit-immune. The deal was: Become crit-immune easier with resilence but you'll be easier to hit in return.

Also back in that time the extra armor on that ring was multiplied by talents, meta gems and shapeshifting (bear druid armor bonus) which nowadays isn't the case anymore.

wow blizz you suck... I started running running ramparts at 58 and have seen this ring drop 3-4 times but never have a chance to win it. It seems plate classes can roll NEED on this but mages (and most likely other class) can only role Greed.

This is very powerful right now.
49 bonus armor on lv60 granted my blood death knight: 49 attack power and about 5% reduction on physical damage. For comparison, my heirloom pvp sword gave me, at that same level, 24 strenght, which translates to 24 attack power.
Also, it is not unique-equipped, meaning your low level tank can use two of those babies.

It seems like blizzard really screwed up the itemization when it comes to +bonus armor

THIS RING IS AMAZING for a dungeon finder tank. To put this in perspective this adds armor to about the equivalent as 2 pieces of plate. Considering how many times you might end up in ramparts when queing there are pretty good odds you can grab 2 of these bad boys. I'm still using 2 of these at lvl 80...

Was a powerful tank leveling ring, but not anymore. The resilience is absolutely useless PvE wise. You can find green "of the Whale" rings out in Hellfire or on the AH with more Stam and Versatility.
