According to reports, these are random drops off ANY of the mobs in the flight only areas of Blades Edge Mountains. When Combined with 50 Apexis Shards (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=32569) it will turn into a Badge of Tenacity (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=32658), pretty much the best druid tanking trinket so far introduced.

The drop rate for the Depleted Badge is REALLY low, but I have heard (unconfirmed) that it is higher on the 35 crystal summoned mobs (dragons, demons, guardians).

the drop rate on these items sucks... ive spent well over 100 hours trying to get a depleted badge and ive yet to see a single depleted item drop other the the crystal focuses.

Understanding the drops on the plateau.

The trash, such as Bash'ir, boars, rays, flayers, and ordinary demons have a full drop table typical of normal world mobs. It consists of a large chance to drop nothing, a small chance to drop greens, a much smaller chance to drop blues, and an impossibly small chance to drop purples.

The next teir of mobs are the mobs summoned by 35-apexis crystals. The dragons and the demons summoned at large green crystals in the forge camps are the best source of these. For these mobs, the drop table is the same, except the chance to drop nothing is truncated. So you're left with a guarantee to get a green, unless you get the small chance to get a blue or smaller chance to get a purple.

The highest teir is shartuul himself from the transporter event. His drop table truncates the chance to drop nothing and the chance to drop greens. He also has a couple of extra BoP purple rings on his drop table.

Now, one thing I'm not sure about because the data isn't on wowhead, has anyone seen any of the drops from some of the Bash'ir summoned mobs? For example the mark of the nexus king quests, and the one from the transponder. These guys usually have some type of blue drop with "of the falcon" or similar. Not sure about their chance to drop depleted items.

After going feral on my druid I decided to see if I could grind a few days after this. My mate told me she had grinded for it for 2 months and it didnt drop (about 2 hours a day), and it dropped for me after 2 days of 6 hours grinding a day.

When I first got it, I had a hard time deciding wheter to sell it or use it.
I used it, and I dont regret at all. Its a godly tanking trinket, the 10% Dodge and Crit when you use it owns, even for grinding.

Per the 2.4 patch notes:

Elites in Blade’s Edge Plateau Regions: These creatures now have an increased chance to drop rare depleted items.

Any idea what the new numbers are?

Just a FYI: one dropped for me last night off an Ethereal in Bashir's Landing (one of the the melee ones) while I was doing the SSO daily up there.

Really wanted this for my druid so i grinded a few hours in BeM.. ofc i got tired of this and me and a priest m8 started killing the dragons u summon with apexis shards, when we got to the fourth dragon it dropped! Sweet :D and i got a nice cloak to put on AH as a bonus.

i have been grinding off and on ever few hours for a week on the non elite mobs in BEM for this, i know the elite mobs have a better drop chance but i would have better luck asking random people for gold then getting a few people for this. can anyone offer any better ideas on the grind for this? like what non elite mob has droped this that you have seen.

Did they lower the drop rate of this on Shartuul? I've done him about 15 times and haven't seen the badge even once. It's the only reason I started killing him in the first place. I'll keep killing him for the money (it's really nice).

I have been grinding Skyguard rep on my shaman so I've been out in Blade's Edge for the past week. I've killed the elite dragon Rivendark twice and both times he has dropped a depleted badge. The item it makes (Ecusson de ténacité) is pretty decent for a lvl 70 tank since trinkets for tanks are hard to come by at that level. The first sold for 250g on my server - I plan on listing this one for the same.
