I would like to note that you CANNOT stack several glyphs of the same type to increase the effect. Upon attempting to inscribe a duplicate Glyph at the Lexicon of Power you recieve the message:

"That Glyph is already inscribed in your spellbook."

With the change to happiness why does this glyph still grant it. There are two different hunter glyphs that give pet happiness that are absolutely worthless. Pets no longer have happiness or loyalty or if they do i haven't seen any icon showing their happiness recently.

So they start off by giving us absolutely no mechanic changes, but a very nice cosmetic change. Then they reverse the cosmetic change to make it completely unappealing.

I can already tell 4.1 is going to be fun for hunters...

Don't use this on your seagull pet. It might shrink so small, it'll disappear right out of existence!

If you use a pet biscuit on a Rustberg Seagull companion, it's actually bigger than a hunter pet seagull already. This glyph only makes it worse.

I guess the purpose of this is just so that your pet is harder to target? Not much point in that, as players always go for the hunter. And plus, if you're looking for smaller pets, the choice of pet probably matters more than this glyph (fox vs, say, gorilla).

I think you missed the point of that glyph... Ever played a melee gnome with a T-rex (or other large pet) hugging the back of a small boss? You can't see a thing :P

For anyone reading this in the future,

This glyph used to be Glyph of Mend Pet when pets had a happiness system (unhappy = less damage, neutral = normal, happy = more). It's use was that every time you used Mend Pet it would also restore some happiness. So you could just spam this and not worry so much about not having food with you.

With patch 4.1 the happiness system was removed and pet damage now acts as if the pet is always happy. Because of this, this glyph was announced to be changed to a glyph that increases pet size, only to be corrected to become a glyph that lowers pet size.

Maybe later they'll add the original glyph (that is, one that increases pet size). Being a Tauren, my pets always seem a bit small compared to me. =(

This glyph isn't terrible, but aside from practical use in raids, I can't think of any time where I'd want my pets to be smaller by choice. Greater proportion had more use in PVP and was more desirable as a cosmetic choice.

The only reason I can imagine Blizzard made it lesser proportion would be because they believed greater proportion would be imbalanced in PVP. Which is ironic, but I won't get into that here.

It's like asking for a smaller pecker, makes no sense.

A waste of digital wow space. I dont know why anyone would want a smaller pet, every hunter I know wants a BIG pet (including most women) and all hunters I've talked to are bummed when you tame them and they shrink (including most women). Remember when T-rex tame first came out and they stayed large? That was friggin awesome. This glyph is friggin weak and ghey. The funny thing is that hunters are nerfed, the gear sets for hunters are visually ghey (mulock looking PVE and the PVP is crap too), now they want to make our pets look less intimidating. The size shrink can not be in any way a PVE or PVP advantage. This is a pointless glyph that will soon be changed or removed completely, or they will come up with some reason why you'd need it that none of us are aware of.

This glyph is long overdue for hunters who use flying pets such as Birds of Prey, Carrion Birds and Bats.

Assuming the player uses a third person view with the camera immediately behind their character, flying pets can be a real annoyance since the jumbo sized bat or bird flaps its wings nearby every second, which not everyone finds entirely pleasant.

Sure, many hunters prefer larger pets, specifically pets that move around on the ground, and especially Beastmaster hunters. However, for hunters who don't rely on pets much such as Marksmanship hunters, a smaller pet is a lot comfier to deal with and doesn't draw as much focus from the hunter either, thus allowing the player to show off their armor or weapons without an enormous flying beast nearby to hog all the glory.

That said, I really don't see why they wouldn't add a Glyph of Larger proportion too, though I imagine that might have something to do with the dual glyphs then becoming "mandatory minor glyphs," which is something the devs moved away from with the latest major revamp of the glyph system.

The one issue I had with the glyph change was that if a hunter had been using Glyph of Mend pet before the patch, it was automatically replaced by this, meaning having to spend money on removing it from the slot just to have regular sized pets.

On a side not, we can hope that Blizzard do indeed put in another minor glyph to slightly increase the size.

Surprised no one has mentioned, but the glyph in game has a typo. Currently it reads "Glyph of Lesser Proprotion." I kinda like it that way :)

I find it highly probable this a temporary solution that does something but nothing that will affect gameplay. I'm sure they are going to play around with sizes.

I dont understand why you would want to make your pet smaller :P i go around with either a devilsaur or a rhino i want them nice and big :D i hope they add another glyph to increase pet size even if only a little it would make me feel so happy when i use bestial wrath on a gnome :P

From a psychological perspective, if your pet is this small harmless-looking fox (even with bestial wrath) nibbling on someone, they are far more likely to take on the mindset of "ignore the annoying pet while killing the hunter!" despite taking large amounts of damage from it.

If they see a really big red dinosaur biting and jumping on them they'll instead think "kite the pet like crazy while killing the hunter!" which sucks as BM.

I'm not sure if this is because of the glyph or not, but I've noticed my mount is smaller than other people's too. Just a little bit... Could this be a side effect of the glyph?

I WAS NOT able to get this glyph to effect pets I gained through the engi mind control tinker. Whether it was on before I mc'ed them or it was applied during the MC. Unsure what might happen if I could get a player Mced who was a beast though.

As of today (7/26) when I try to attach one of these newer glyphs to my character, it only will attach to a single hunter pet in my "call pet" skill. If I want them all to be smaller it appears I will have to attach a glyph to each and every single pet. This does not make me happy.

This can only be applied to the pet in the first slot. If you're unable to apply this to a particular pet, visit a Stable Master and rearrange your pets accordingly.

Currently(legion pre-patch) applies only to the first pet in your call pet "pop-up" bar. Seems to do as advertised, added a screenshot as a reference of the size difference(not sure when it's up). It's about 30-40% size reduction.

It, as well as other glyphs, can be removed with dust of disapeparance.

The reduced size applies to all pets, I just tested it. Had thok in my 4th pet slot, applied the glyph to first slot, thok shrunk.

Keep in mind that this glyph:

a.) affects all of your pets in the stable--now AND all future pets that you tame.

b.) oddly it does not affect Hati. So if you want to run with two matched pets of equal size, this won't work.

As a gnome, I wanted this to work (I have a large moth that I like to run with, that is large and obscures my view when fighting sometimes). But since my preferred spec is Beastmaster, and I like to run with matched pets (transmogging Hati to match) this won't work for me.

The 1st slot only thing was lame, but they should let this apply to the pet itself. (Regardless of slot) There are some pets that are way too big (Trigore, Hexapos, etc) and others that don't look right smaller because it sort of crunches their graphic incorrectly.

Doesn't appear to be working as intended, in BfA. It looks like it should only affect the pet slot it's applied to, but it's affecting all of my summoned primary pets (not the one that comes from the Animal Companion talent). If that's not how it's supposed to work, I wish they'd update the tooltip to say so. I definitely have some pets I'd like smaller and some not, and that's not based on spec.

If you had a gazelle, take in mind the difference is minuscule. Too the point where I am not 100% it even applied to my pet. It SEEMS smaller than the other gazelles...

if you have the beast mastery talent for animal companion it won't reduce their size! it only works for the slot you've assigned it to

I noticed today that this glyph will reduce the size of BOTH pets when you are using the talent Animal Companion. When first used it only reduces the pet in the first slot as stated. However, after combat, both pets are reduced in size.

Update #1. I logged out and when I logged back in I noticed that only one pet size was reduced. However, after starting and ending combat both pet's sizes were reduced.

Update #2. After dragon-riding 1 pet was not reduced. However, after combat, it once again changed and both pet's sizes were reduced.
