Clicking on the net while targeting a Vale Flitter will cause it to despawn. Make sure you're nearly underneath the moth before using the net, otherwise it might despawn without applying the buff to you.

Not sure if you need to be a certain renown level, as I wasn't able to find anything regarding requirements for this; but the net is nowhere to be found for me, and I've noticed many other people have the same issue. Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated <3

Summon your Vale Flitter from your pet journal, click the staff it took 6 times to get buff talked to guy & got my recipe. Took 1.5min at total

Use the net while targeting a vale flitter and while standing, let the channel complete and then you have a chance of the getting the "Glowing Moth" buff. If not, you be disoriented for a few seconds and you'll have to try on another flitter. Don't move after activating the net, because that cancels the channel and still despawns the flitter.
