Maxing out Surveying in Mining gives "...a chance to uncover an Illimited Diamond when mining *rich* ore depsits." Can anyone confirm this? I've been maxed out on my Drackthyr with 30% Perception and have logged over 300 rich deposits hit. Zero Diamonds.

I've been maxed out (on "mining Process" 30/30 points) for about a day and i got one, there are quite a few on the AH going for 600g at the mo.

Today I mined my first Illimited Diamond, quality 2 from a Rich Severite node.

Yes, nearly 3 months apart. Fully capped in Mining Process, and Metallurgy.

Got the trait that allows me to find the diamonds. Got one on my first rich node after that, and nothing more untill reset were I got one from the like 2nd rich node. Seems to be capped in some manner per week per character sort of like knowlage items.

dont rely on 30/30 surveying to get these with any sort of regularity, i maxed surveying 3 weeks ago and ive only ever gotten one of them, out of hundreds of rich ore nodes.
i estimate a droprate somewhere below 1%.

edit 7/3/2023, i got my second illimited diamond today after 6 months of mining sessions, after the diamonds are worth like 7g.
im going to go out on a limb and say screw the capstone bonus for surveying.

I've been max in Mining process for a couple weeks now, and mine almost daily. I had not found any Illimited Diamond.

Yesterday I got Mining surveying to 21/30. I found 1 Illimited Diamond in the 5 rich nodes I mined. I'm working to max surveying asap.

Not sure if it was broken previously but seems to be working now.

I had wished for a hint of which ores (and quality).

Looks like they somehow nerfed the Illimited diamonds you get when prospecting ore now since 10.0.5. Can't confirm 100% but I just bought 1000 quality 3 ore & 1000 quality 2 ore which makes for a total of 400 prospects & didn't even get a single one of em. Pre patch I got at least 1 to even 5 when prospecting 1000 ore. Drop rate varies though, but now it seems like a drop chance below 0.0025...

My experience is seeing absolutely zero from mining ores, but several from prospecting.

I'm thinking this is meant to be a rare thing from mining and you get most from prospecting. I don't know if different ores have a higher chance?

The big question to me is how do I get a gold version? I'm guessing you need points in Entrepreneuriat and Prospection

It is worth noting that prospecting Rank 2 ore usually yields Rank 2 gems, except at times when I would get an inspiration proc. Rank 3 always yielded Rank 3 gems, but this heavily depends on where you've spent your Knowledge points. Also, please note that the sample size probably isn't high enough a the numbers should be taken with a grain of salt.

I am 122 skill in JC, with 15 points in Enterprising and 25 points (max) in Prospecting.

Why is there not a section on prospecting diamonds? I just got done prospecting 35 R3 Draconium ore got 2 R2 Illimited Diamonds, prospected 150 R2 Draconium ore and got 2 R2 diamonds, prospected 1000 R2 Serevite ore and got 2 R3 diamonds, and 2 R2 diamonds, Prospected 100 Khaz"gorite ore and got 2 more R2 diamonds. I now have a total of 10 diamonds R2 and above, and 15 Prismatic ore!

Please add a section for prospecting ore to the tabs.

I am also 20 Enterprising, and 30 Prospecting.
