These fish are used in the quest The Way to His Heart.... It takes about 6-10 of these fish to finish the quest, so you may as well get them all before you do it. Also note that when you turn in the quest, any leftover Tasty Reef Fish will be automatically deleted from your inventory. Don't waste time trying to save up for the next day.

Easiest way to find these fish is to look in the water off the coasts of where the Reef Bulls and Cows are. They are a little ways off shore so you might need to swim out a bit. Also, if you look underwater, you might be able to see them better.

The schools don't show up for fish tracking, so don't waste your time looking for them that way.

You can do it with just 3 fishes, just pull one of the females with an attack, not the sweet way of doing it but good enough if there is much competition and you cant find schools easy enough :)

If you move after you throw the net, you will not be given the fish so stand still until they're in your inventory!

Do not try to look for the schools on the shore line. They are further out in the water, not where the usual fishing pools are.

In case you were wondering like I was, you cannot catch a bunch of fish and keep them for future completions of the quest, they get destroyed as soon as you turn the quest in.

While I had this quest in my log, and was procrastinating on it, I killed a shark in Borean Tundra while doing the quest to kill the Clam Master, and the shark dropped 2 tasty reef fish, so for whatever its worth, you can get these off the sharks in Borean Tundra too

You have no need for "A dozen, maybe more" of these, you can use a single fish if you bother to aggro and kite a cow to a bull or vise-versa, then feed the bull a fish to activate it.

You no longer are able to kite the bulls or females, it seems. They didn't move off of their rock. It's easy enough to just get six fish and do it that way.

Logic takes a big hit with this quest it seems. Evidently I can throw a big fat two-handed sword 30 yards, but I can throw this teeny weeny fish only 20.

They are very very small orange Nemo like fishes... you can swim underwater but you might miss them if your graphics are low. So, get into the water exactly at 23,71 and then, wherever they are, on the surface of the sea you'll see some "bubbles" (the fish is underwater but kind of near the surface). Use the net, you'll catch around 4-5 each spawn (you kind of need 10 fishes to be sure and complete the pulling in this mating quest, but you are probably fine with like around 7...) I looked for other "banks" but I don't remember the coords sorry.
And if you are like me you probably want a sweet sweet snapshot, with those little hearts between these two soulmates cow and bull, but hurry because as soon as they meet they will disappear: I don't know where they go?
