Blizzard loves putting little easter eggs and pop culture references in World of Warcraft, from Austin Powers (
M. Bigglesworth
) to
Zelda
(
C'est dangereux d'y aller seul
) . This series of guides takes a look at all the cleverly-named items that are references to pop culture!
Since there's so many item references, we've broken it up into two guides. This guide covers the "pop" of pop culture--video games, movies, television, and other celebrities.
There are many more references and tributes outside the scope of this guide--items named after players, NPCs, achievements, and quests. If you like these types of posts, we'll consider doing more on references.
Edit: our second
items guide is now up
covering books, poetry, comics, and music references!
Check it out here
.
