Regarding Feedback & Changes

Things we changed
Your reputation history will no longer have broken links
You can now see a list of your replies on your user page:
http://www.wowhead.com/user=Koper#replies
You can now always delete instantly your own comments. If the comments are deleted by the OP, rather than by the vote process, the comment will be visible only to the OP and moderators -- high reputation users will not be able to see it.
You can now also instantly undelete your own comments if you deleted them yourself. If deleted by a moderator, or by the vote process, you can still vote to undelete.
Comments are now green if they have a rating of +10.

Original Blog Post
Wowhead's commenting system has remained mostly unchanged since its first creation in 2006. While it has worked quite well there were some serious shortcomings that we tried to address:
The default sorting order is by date which means that the first comment posted will always be at the top, even if it's not the best one.
You can reply to a comment with another full blown-out comment, with the reply always shown below the parent comment. This functionality has been abused by replying to the first comment on the page with an unrelated comment in order to have the "second place" slot.
The upvote/downvote controls are very small, not immediately visible to new users and somewhat awkward to use. The comment rating number has the same problem.
With that being said I proudly announce a
new commenting system
with all of the aforementioned shortcomings resolved, and a lot of other changes as well!
Rating changes
The simplest and yet most beneficial change is that now
comments are always ordered by rating
by default so you will always see the best comment first! Many of you have also complained about the comment list being cluttered with "purged" or "deleted" comments everywhere; we took care of that as well by
making deleted comments always appear at the bottom
.
The rating part of the comment layout has been redesigned. It's now much bigger and in a more visible place. It's also much easier to use; it gives visual feedback on whether you have upvoted or downvoted the comment (or neither), and if you click it you can instantly get the breakdown between upvotes and downvotes.
Additionally you are now able to change your previous vote whenever you want, as many times as you want.
New feature: Comment Replies
Comment replies have been completely redesigned with a brand-new system. We want replies to be very lightweight and use little space on the page -- they are meant to be used only to "comment on the comment" such as offering advice on how to improve it, correcting small mistakes and - why not - make a small joke.
We do not want them to be comments themselves
.
Following this reasoning we came up with the following restrictions:
They can't be longer than 600 characters.
They can't have line breaks.
They can only use a subset of BBCode: bold, italics, underline plus links.
They can be upvoted, but not downvoted.
They are not considered "comments" by the system, so they don't give reputation, achievements, etc.
You must have at least 150 reputation before being able to use this feature.
Only up to 5 replies per comment are shown by default. A link can then be clicked to show more.
The comment replies posted with the old system have been automatically converted to the new reply system if eligible and to normal comments if not. In order to be eligible the reply must be shorter than 600 characters and must not contain any disallowed BBCode tag; it can contain line breaks, but those will be converted to spaces during the conversion.
If you find an old reply automatically converted to a comment that doesn't make sense without being associated with the comment it was replying to please report it to the moderators.
Other changes
While I was at it I also made numerous small improvements:
Comments with negative rating are no longer automatically purged. They will appear at the bottom of course, but they will still be there to be improved or deleted by the OP.
When you cast a vote on a comment you will no longer receive +1 reputation. This was decided because many users were abusing the voting feature mindlessly voting (and quite often DOWNvoting) comments in order to gain reputation, regardless of the merits of the comment itself.
When you downvote a comment you are invited to leave a reply explaining why.
Upvoting now requires 125 reputation and downvoting requires 250 reputation. Before, both required 150.
New comments now start with a rating of 0 rather than 1. This change is retroactive (all existing comments lost 1 rating).
Comments with high rating are no longer green.
Moderators can now make a comment "STICKY" which makes it appear on top and colors it green.
Votes cast by moderators are now worth as much as normal user votes. Before, they were worth 5 points with an option to cast a +/- 25 "super vote". This change is retroactive.
You are now always able to see your own deleted comments, regardless of reputation.
The "Default comment sort" option has been removed from the user's settings page; you can change it to "Date" on a page per page basis, but you can no longer change it for all pages.
The "Hide deleted comments" option has been removed as well. Since now deleted comments are always at the bottom they should no longer be in the way.
