This mob will never stop chasing you, and will give no exp or loot when killed.
It's Earth Rupture ability pulls you toward him from a considerable distance as well.

Answer: Blizzard HATES hunters.

When he spawns, you are not considered in combat and there is more than enough time to mount up and ride/fly away, or at least to a safe distance.

I suggest flying mount so you can hover and watch the tunneler destroy the nearby NPCs :-)

I accidently aggrod this one after spawning it. I had to run like 300 yards before it sorta evaded (it went underground, then finally stopped targetting me when it got up) and use all my cooldowns to survive.
