Death Knight Tips for Antorus, the Burning Throne
Full Guide
Eradication
is Physical, you can not
Carapace anti-magie
this.
On Mythic Difficulty, If you have
Pilier de givre
up you will not get knocked back from the
Détraqué
Annihilation
which allows you to sit in it and soak both. Make sure you have
Carapace anti-magie
for this so you don’t die.
Full Guide
Not much you can do on this fight beside doing your raids tactic. You just want to use
Carapace anti-magie
to live.
Full Guide
You can use
Carapace anti-magie
to get rid of
Déflagration entropique
stacks from the mines.
You can
Poigne de la mort
the Pyromancer and the Felguards, if they are not spinning, if they spawn too far out.
On Mythic Difficulty you can use
Carapace anti-magie
to get rid of the
Grenade commotionnante
debuff before it goes off. Doing this means you don’t have to move out and you won’t stun anyone near you.
Full Guide
You can use
Carapace anti-magie
to remove
Détonation ardente
if an imp cast gets off and more might get off.
On the Green Platform you can use
Carapace anti-magie
to remove
Ponction d'essence
. On Mythic Difficulty you can also remove
Obscurité dévorante
if you get hit by it.
On the Purple Platform you can use
Carapace anti-magie
to remove
Corruption
which is extremely helpful if the tank debuff,
Brèche dans la réalité
, is about to fall off or imps will explode and cause a detonation.
On Portal Keeper Hasabel, the Death Knight is in a really awkward spot as we are not very good at hitting the Felblaze Imps due to their extremely small hitbox and the fact that they spawn in a 360.
Faux de givre
is very weak against both of these, thus making DKs a good candidate for going up to the platforms.
If you have low platform damage, speccing in to
Souffle de Sindragosa
is a great option for platform damage. I even did had to do this for our first kill and rekills!
If you decide to go this build, make sure you only use
Souffle de Sindragosa
on the platform and use
Pilier de givre
as soon as possible after getting back down then hold it for the next platform. You won’t do a ton of boss damage with this build, but it makes platforms extremely easy if you just go full burst.
Full Guide
When you get targeted with
Lance de la calamité
you can use
Carapace anti-magie
to stand in it and reduce its impact as you don’t take damage while
Spécialisation (Givre)
is up.
On Mythic Difficulty, if you take the yellow crystal and get the debuff
Réaction - Pas infects
you can
Carapace anti-magie
and remove the stacks.
The biggest thing about Eonar is that it’s a single target fight disguised as an aoe fight. You have to prioritize your single target damage. There are classes better at aoe than you that can’t do nearly as much single target as a Frost Death Knight. Your damage doesn’t matter on this fight as it all depends on what job you have and where you are told to go. You want to take
Faux de givre
as it is amazing on this fight, but you need to prioritize your single target damage.

When
Bombe de sommeil
and the emote or your WeakAura pops up, you can
Carapace anti-magie
before it hits you and you will not get slept and have to get dispelled.
If you get hit by
Explosions chargées
you can use
Carapace anti-magie
to remove the debuff.
If you get hit by
Explosion de shrapnel surpuissante
you can use
Carapace anti-magie
to remove the debuff
You can not use
Carapace anti-magie
to remove the debuff from
Grenade à impulsion
and
Pilier de givre
does not stop the knockback either. Don’t soak them unless you have to.
Full Guide
If you are caught in a really bad spot, you can use
Carapace anti-magie
to get through
Dévastateur
without dying.
Kin’garoth is a strange fight as it is mostly about killing the adds every 2 minutes.
Souffle de Sindragosa
is absurdly good for this fight and if played well can only be out damaged by Windwalker Monks on the adds.
If you decide to play
Souffle de Sindragosa
, you will only want to use it on the adds, and use it as soon as possible on the adds.
Pilier de givre
is used in a different way than most fights, as you spec in to
Avalanche
since the adds are every 2 minutes. This means that you use
Pilier de givre
after the 1st add spawns as you want to hold it until then. You can still do great boss damage with this spec, but even better add damage.

If you get
Misère
you can
Carapace anti-magie
it off.
Other than that, on Varimathras, there’s nothing special you can do. On Mythic Difficulty you can save your procs for adds if they are about to spawn, but that’s about it.
Full Guide
If you get
Impulsion fulminante
you can
Carapace anti-magie
it off. You need to make sure you are not standing on top of anyone else as it still does damage to other people.
When
Fureur de Golganneth
is cast you can
Carapace anti-magie
it off. That does not mean you can start running around and standing on top of people. It still does damage to you if you run over other people but doesn’t kill the other person.
You can remove the stacks of
Machinations d'Aman'Thul
with
Carapace anti-magie
.
If you get
Sang gelé
you can
Robustesse glaciale
the stun or you can
Carapace anti-magie
the debuff off. I recommend using
Robustesse glaciale
first as you don’t use it for anything else.

As a Death Knight on this fight, you have the power to make this boss very easy or wipe the group. Listen to your raid leader at all times, especially on Mythic!
Always have your cooldowns up for the intermissions, it’s the hardest part of the fight.
You should always use
Marche spectrale
to get out of
Tempête incendiaire
, especially on Mythic. You shouldn’t need it anywhere else.
If you soak the second
Entaille de flammes
of
Technique de Taeshalach
on Mythic,
Carapace anti-magie
will be up for every cast.
Full Guide
Phase 1
In Phase 1 there isn’t much you can die to, except a getting a combo of
Fléau de l’âme
and
Rage dévorante
. This is what you hold
Carapace anti-magie
for at all times. You need to run out with
Fléau de l’âme
before you use
Carapace anti-magie
as it will drop a pool of
Brouillard de mort
which can wipe your raid if people don’t move out of it fast enough.
Phase 2
Phase 2 of Argus is quite easy, all you have to do is avoid
Tranchant d'oblitération
and run out with
Explosion d'âme
to the side. You can use
Carapace anti-magie
to drop
Explosion d'âme
but you don’t want to do this in the raid as it does fall off damage.
Phase 3
In Phase 3 a bunch of adds spawn that you want to kill but they all have a weakness to certain elements.
You will always want to hit the Frost add.
As you can see you if you are hitting the Frost add and it does not get empowered, you are kind of off in a corner where people don’t really hit the adds as Arcane and Nature are not particularly common damage types. This means that the healers will not be in range of you for the majority of the phase. It is inevitable that
Balise cosmique
will get cast by some of the adds which puts
Choc cosmique
on you. You will want to save
Carapace anti-magie
for this debuff as it can hit quite hard if it stacks up.
Robustesse glaciale
is particularly useful in this phase as combined with the trait
Glace dans les veines
, it can basically top you off. Make sure to use this so you don’t die.
Phase 4
In Phase 4, there are a bunch of deadly combinations of abilities as
Bombe d'âme
and
Explosion d'âme
make an appearance, as well as
Rage dévorante
. You want to use
Carapace anti-magie
whenever there is a Bomb +
Rage dévorante
combo. If
Carapace anti-magie
is not up you can use
Robustesse glaciale
for these combos as you might have to use
Carapace anti-magie
to get rid of the
Braise de rage
debuff.
Talents
Antorus, the Burning Throne has a variety of fight types but you can use the same talents on every fight depending on your legendaries if you want to without losing all that much damage. We use different talents on a few fights but it is only “necessary” on Kin’garoth. Make sure to check the boss specific tabs to see if there are any different talents that you can use if your raid needs it.
