You need 2 of them to light the braziers in The Lyceum (BlackRock Depths area). When you light the braziers the door to the next area will open and you can go to kill Magumus.
You have a time limit to use the Shadowforge Torches of 5 minutes.
Take into account that dwarves in The Lyceum have a quick respawn of 30 seconds (if your group die there, no reincarnation + resurrection is possible!). Mages are welcome in The Lyceum because of AoE spells (Frost Nova, Cone of Cold, Arcane Explosion, Blizzard).

Under "Unlocks" it says that this opens up some eggs in the Ironforge library?

Noone bothered to answer the real question on this thread: "Where do I get the torch?" Sadly enough I had to go to thottbot to get the answer... They drop from the Shadowforge Flame Keepers wandering the area. You can light one flame at a time, so once you pick up a torch run and light the flame. Go farm flame keepers for the other, and once the second flame is lit the doors will open up for you.

does anyone know why the torch is listed as being able to unlock the saurial egg (the exhibit at the IF library)? i saw curious and brought one over. but it didn't do anything.

Useful info : If you are soloing BRD, you can pick 2 of these up, since they aren't unique :)
