This is one of a series of new versatility foods that has come to the Darkmoon Faire with patch 6.2 (Festin de Sombrelune fastueux and Festin de poisson en croûte de sucre being the others). All 3 of these new foods require Crocs-lames de Sombrelune to cook. This food provides an individual buff when eaten, whereas Festin de Sombrelune fastueux and Festin de poisson en croûte de sucre provide the same versatility buff for party members as well.

Filet citronné aux herbes grants 1% versatility (+1% damage done/-0.5% damage taken, ~130 versatility at level 100). This makes it slightly better than the best versatility food in game thus far - Loup de mer aux crevettes (which grants +125 versatility, for non-Pandaren). Filet citronné aux herbes is also considerably easier to make than Loup de mer aux crevettes, but the versatility boost only lasts 20 minutes (as opposed to 1 hour).

The Well Fed buff is applied instantly upon eating. In contrast, standard foods in-game require you to eat for 10 seconds before the Well Fed buff is applied. As well, this food restores health and mana more rapidly than standard foods, at 10% per second while eating.

This food requires 2 Crocs-lames de Sombrelune per piece to make. A cooking skill of 1 is needed to cook it. The recipe is sold by Galissa Rosée-de-Soleil (Fishing Prizes) at the Darkmoon Faire. She is located at (52, 88) - beside the left dock ramp, under the reddish awning.

The currency used for this vendor (as well as the mat required to cook the food) is Crocs-lames de Sombrelune, which can be fished up in the waters surrounding Darkmoon Island. Here are some notes about catching these fish:

These fish can be caught from open water OR pools
When fished from open water, 1 Crocs-lames de Sombrelune is caught per cast, unless you fish up a Batteur boursouflé (a rare catch), containing gold and 5-10 Crocs-lames de Sombrelune
Fishing in pools of Shipwreck Debris will yield multiple Crocs-lames de Sombrelune (typically 2-5), along with 1 Caisse de Sombrelune scellée per cast. Pools usually despawn after 1-2 casts.
While the fish are the currency for items sold by Galissa Rosée-de-Soleil, they can also be eaten (for mana and health, they do not grant a buff) or cooked into various dishes that grant a versatility buff (the recipes for which are purchased from Galissa!).

Note that 1 of these potions is guaranteed to be inside each Caisse de Sombrelune scellée, which can be fished up from pools of Shipwreck Debris around Darkmoon Island, or rarely can be fished up from open water. This is by far the more efficient way of obtaining these potions!

Well fed buff is applied instantly upon eating, and lasts 20 minutes. Feast requires 10 Crocs-lames de Sombrelune each to make. Cooking skill of 225 needed to cook.

I was looking for highest precent restore foods for fastest mana gain in mythic +, and this was one of them. Does not however work in there for some reason

Unlike most foods that provide versatility (or haste, crit, mastery) rating the Lemon Herb Filet provides 1% of the raw stat. This means that it continues to be a useful buff at all levels.

At level 110 its 1% increase to damage/healing done (and 0.5% reduction in damage taken) is equivalent to ~475 versatility rating. Making this the most powerful versatility food buff currently available. The second best is Seed Battered Fish Plate which provides 0.21% less.

Given the time-limited availability of the ingredients for Lemon Herb Filet and the very slight advantage it gives over more easily available food, it doesn't see much use.

This is NOT usable DURING a mythic plus dungeon (you can only eat it before the key is put in). This makes it a bummer because the 1 sec of eating to get the food buff is awesome, but fret not!

You can use Festin de poisson en croûte de sucre or Festin de Sombrelune fastueux instead in m+ for that ultra fast food buff! (also fills up healers' mana bars very fast)

Filet citronné aux herbes, Festin de poisson en croûte de sucre and Festin de Sombrelune fastueux have (quiety?) been nerfed to give only 11 versatility at level 110 and 45 versatility at level 120, which equates to 0.53% versatility. So it seems the buff has been cut in half. Pandas still get double, for whatever that is worth.

Unlike most buff foods which you have to remain seated and eat for 10 seconds to get the buff, you get the versatility buff from the Lemon Herb Filet about one second after you start eating if you don't already have a food buff with higher versatility.

(The stats on foods mentioned in this post vary from Wowhead, to the in-game food item tooltip, to the active buff tooltip. The numbers I give are what the actual active "Well Fed" buff tooltip indicated for that particular character.)

On my level 19 warlock, I ate some Filet citronné aux herbes which gave me +1 Versatility. Then I ate some Tourte d'araignée fondante and got +2 Stamina and +2 Versatility. While the Spider Cake buff was still active, I ate some more Filet citronné aux herbes but it did not overwrite my +2 Stam +2 Vers buff from the Spider Cake.

I was very excited about this and initially thought that the Lemon Herb Filet would not overwrite an existing food buff at all, but after more testing on a higher level toon I realized alas, this was not the case.

On my level 111 mage, I ate some Tourte d'araignée fondante and got +2 Stam +2 Vers. Then I ate Lemon Herb Filet and it overwrote the Spider Cake buff and gave me +16 Vers. I thought, "well maybe the Lemon Herb Filet will only overwrite a food buff if the Filet buff is going to be 'better' than the food buff you already have."

So I ate some Salade azshari and got +19 Haste. Then I ate Filet citronné aux herbes and it overwrote the +19 Haste with +16 Vers. I thought, "well maybe that amount of Haste isn't necessarily 'better' than the Vers, so that's why it overwrote it." More testing was needed.

I ate Ragoût de poisson mogu and got +18 Intellect. Then I ate Filet citronné aux herbes and it overwrote the Fish Stew buff with +16 Vers. Now, for a mage, +18 Int is objectively better than +16 Vers. So that showed that my theory was wrong about the Filet not overwriting a "better" food buff.

So why didn't the Filet overwrite the Spider Cake buff on my level 19 warlock? It must have been because the Vers on the Spider Cake buff was higher (for my level 19).

I acquired some Versatility food appropriate for my 111 mage, Biltong, which would give more Vers than the Filet. I ate the Bil'Tong and got +93 Vers. Then I ate the Filet, and it did NOT overwrite the Bil'Tong buff. Ergo, the Lemon Herb Filet will not overwrite an existing food buff that has more Versatility than the Filet would give you, but in all other cases it will overwrite your food buff.

This severely limits the usefulness of the Lemon Herb Filet. If you generally use a higher +Vers buff, then the Filet will restore 100% health and mana in 10 seconds and leave your buff alone, so that's fantastic. If you use a different stat food buff, the Filet will overwrite it almost immediately, which makes the Filet highly undesirable.

Unlike other foods from previous expacs, where if you don't want to overwrite your food buff but you need the health and/or mana, then you can eat a food for up to 9 seconds and then stand up without overwriting your buff, but the Lemon Herb Filet buff kicks in too quickly to even take one bite just for the health/mana.

The Filet citronné aux herbes is still great if you are going to do some "everyday" content and you want quick healing/mana and/or a small Vers buff, but you need to conserve your high-stat food for special occasions, or if you just don't have any other suitable buff food. It would be great to craft in bulk and send a few stacks to your new alts, new friends on your server, etc., rather than trying to craft a smorgasbord of stat-appropriate food to span their leveling.

A little footnote on the food buff overwriting phenomenon: I was curious whether other foods would overwrite or preserve a buff in a similar way to the filet. So on my 111 mage, with my +93 Vers buff from the Bil'Tong still active, I ate Tourte d'araignée fondante and it overwrote my +93 Vers and gave me +2 Stam +2 Vers.

Then I ate Terre et mer de Suramar and got +16 Haste. Then I ate Salade azshari and it overwrote the Surf and Turf buff and gave me +19 Haste. Then I ate more Surf and Turf and it did NOT overwrite the Salad buff.

Then I ate Tortue braisée and got +15 Intellect. Then I ate Ragoût de poisson mogu and it overwrote the Turtle buff and I got +18 Int. Then I ate Turtle again, and it did NOT overwrite the +18 Int Fish Stew buff. Then I ate Steak d'ours juteux which would purportedly give +9 Int and it did NOT overwrite the +18 Int Fish Stew buff I still had.

I ate Écrevisse épicée and got +7 Stam +7 Vers, it overwrote my Fish Stew buff. Then I ate Tourte d'araignée fondante and it did NOT overwrite the Crawdad buff. Then I ate Raviolis aux crevettes and it overwrote the Crawdad buff and gave me +8 Vers. Then I ate Écrevisse épicée again and it gave me +7 Stam + Vers and overwrote the Dumpling buff. I ate Rôti de sauvagine and it gave me +18 Stam and overwrote the Crawdad buff. I ate Filet citronné aux herbes and it gave me +16 Vers and overwrote the Wildfowl buff. Then I ate Tourte d'araignée fondante and it gave me +2 Stam +Vers and overwrote the Filet buff.

So in a nutshell, if you have an existing food buff and you eat a food whose buff has the same stat(s) but lower, it will NOT replace your food buff. If you eat a food that has one of the same stats you already have but higher, it WILL replace your buff. If you eat a food that has any stat buff you DON'T already have, it WILL replace your buff even if the new food has much lower stats than your existing buff.
