No longer serves any purpose, along with the Vitreous Focuser needed to make it drop. Only those who completed the corresponding quest lines before Cataclysm launch can still obtain the item needed to loot these.

The Cauldron that used the Ectoplastic Resonator, at Gahrron's Witherng, is still there but it cant be used any more, So they are probably just vendor trash.

This is an old reagent which dropped to help grind out Argent Dawn reputation. The Focalisateur vitré that is in your bags is why these are dropping in Stratholme and from some other mobs around the Eastern and Western Plaugelands.

This was re-given as part of the quest line to re-active original version Scholomance and Eastern Plaguelands portal to Naxxramas in the 10.1.5 patch.

If you are exalted with the Argent Dawn, there is no reason to keep the Ectoplasmic Resonators or the Vitreous Focuser. I can't find any other use for these two items, but check around for yourself if less than exalted prior to deleting.

The quest turn in using this specific reagent seems to no longer work either. So, probably junk in your bags in 2023.
