While this bag does only take 1 Mooncloth, I can't say this would be worth going out of your way to purchase. Often times you will find it overpriced marginally when compared to Traveler's Backpacks, just based on the fact that a tailor can only pump one of these out every 4 days due to the cooldown on making Mooncloth. If you're a tailor, using these bags can be quite useful. Make em, replace em with 18 slotters, Pumpkin Bag drops, Traveler's Backpack drops, etc, and just sell em. Good way to make money in some cases.

It's the easiest way for me to make money. Mooncloths are usualy going for 10golds a piece, and mooncloth bag is around 17golds. I can farm my runecloth very easy and getting 40 silvers for the Rune Thread is easy too. I dropped my mooncloth bag pattern from a chest in winterspring.

As of patch 2.4.3, the cool down on making mooncloth has been removed. You are now able to make as many of these bags as you want.

If you can afford these instead of netherweave they are cheaper in the end, since you can AH these for as much as you bought them for(essentially free) and netherweave binds so you can only vendor when you no longer need,

I just snagged on of these on AH for 8g. I'm gonna keep my eyes open for more cuz they're great as hand-me-down bags for leveling alts.

The point of the mooncloth bag is that you can move it around on your alts. AND when you have upgraded to 2g reputation bags, you can SELL them again. Although the runecloth bag is cheaper, it is missing two slots and does not have the same aesthetic. However, if money is that big of an early issue, there is no contest, money rules economic decisions. I personally find the pic a bit bore agreeable than the one for the netherweave bag, but that is me. Also, it is not that much more expensive than the netherweave, considering that you CAN sell it again, even for a profit, given the market, and that all specialty bags also bind (ex. 20 slot mining bag), it is, to me, the cleanest version for the 16 slot bag.
It is also relevant to mention that it is THE Largest bag that DOES NOT bind and that it cannot be bought from a vendor, unlike the 14 slot, which also binds. So, with all that said, it is, to me, a rather rational decision if you are playing with alts or plan to, and even if not, it is the cheapest bag to replace, sometimes even at a profit. As already stated by others - these are great if you roll alts. I am a habitual re-roller of alts & these are perfect as you can just mail back to a main if you decide to delete the alt. Also, the felcloth can now be easily farmed in Dire Maul East from the Satyrs by your high level character(s). (See my post in the comments for Felcloth)

Agreed the netherweave bags are so easy to obtain mats for. Down to personal choice in the end, but I like the non-soulbound attribute of these bags & they are 'olde worlde' ones too, making me nostalgic to the time when my Priest first got this recipe & made my first one after farming for ages to get just 2 felcloth to drop in Felwood. Happy days :)

As there is no longer a cooldown on Mooncloth, the only limitation on crafting this bag is how quickly you can farm the Felcloth you need to make the Mooncloth. Each bag needs 1 Étoffe lunaire (which requires 2 Gangrétoffe), 4 Rouleau d'étoffe runique and 1 Fil runique.

This bag is desirable because it is as large as a Sac en tisse-néant (16 slots) but it does not bind. So you can give that alt you are experimenting with plenty of bag capacity and pass it along to another character if you decide to delete that toon after all—capacity, convenience and no loss of investment.

The bag commands a higher price than the Netherweave Bag because (1) the pattern drops rarely, and (2) Felcloth takes some work to farm, and (3) did I mention it doesn't bind?

The Sac à dos de voyageur shares the same attributes (16 slots, non-binding), but you could run a few dungeons before one drops for you and besides, you should support your local artisans. So buy the Mooncloth Bag.

No comment since 5.4.2 and that somewhat makes sense, as what used to be the to-go non-bound bag before Legion has since been surpassed by Sac d'explorateur. There's no feasible economy thinkable where crafting a Mooncloth bag is cheaper than buying a Explorer's Pack with discount. That, and you'd still give up 8 slots for barely pocket change at best.
