Killing mobs under the Sentinax ship rewards Balise du Sentinax cassée, Which starts the quest L’ombre du Sentinax Turn this in to Capitaine Ruysantos at Deliverance Point. You'll then be introduced to the various items you can buy with Nethershards.

Balise d'hémorragie du Sentinax: Commands the Sentinax to fire a Bloodstrike at your current location, unearthing Blood of Sargeras. Deals 150% of maximum health as Chaos damage.

Dropped for me today from a Broken Shore Rare.

The summoned boss has about 600 million health. After defeating the boss, a message will appear saying that the Sentinax needs to "recharge" and will no longer summons portals. Boss dropped Attack Beacon: Skyhorn and Dauntless tokens for four out of five (4/5) of my party members. The Attack Beacon has a 15 minute timer, we flew to Skyhorn and activated the beacons. It appears to summon a random party of demons (easily soloable) and a clickable cluster for 200 Nethershards for the player who activates the attack beacon. Only the person who activated the beacon can loot the 200 Nethershards.

The Attack Beacon was a bit of a letdown to be honest.
