On a serious note... 50 is way too much Felslate. It really should take a few pieces like the buoy does for Leystone.

There are zero of these on the AH, and with good reason. If it is a one time use item, it's a hefty cost to craft. I mirror the top poster in asking what purpose it could actually serve with such an insane reagent cost.

Maybe everyone is missing something here - an innovative use - and it's a blacksmith's goldmine waiting for people to be aware of its existence so multitudes will buy them. Or not. :)

I feel like there were a lot of "useless" items added in 7.3 for professions. This anchor and the anti-grav boots for instance... but I can't help but wonder if these items are supposed to be used for some kind of secret...

Remember that hidden glowing orb at the bottom of the ocean at the western edge of Vash'ir? Maybe... just maybe....

There is one possible use for this item.

The Fathom Dweller is obtainable by killing Kosumoth on the Eye of Azshara island, but it requires you to undertaken a long quest chain similar to other hidden mounts in Legion. One part of the quest is to get to an underwater target which is in the fatigue area beyond the Broken Shore. Its a difficult trip and its possible this anchor would be a way of getting down to the target location quickly. I wasn't aware of it when I did my run for the mount; I think it might well have made that part of the questline a lot simpler.

In addition to a missing or practical usage of the item, the Ancrage en gangreschiste gets consumed when used.
The only reason Blizzard creates such an item from my point of view is a hidden secret like Jeune fée du soleil, Ver énigmatique de l’esprit, Kosumoth l’Affamé or Cauchemar lucide. Maybe there is a little-hidden thing in Azeroth underwater, where you would regularly die from fatigue and therefore need the Ancrage en gangreschiste to reach it.

I could only guess that this would be an item used in conjunction with other crafted items in order to create a boat or ship, perhaps we will get a garrison 2.0 but instead of being stationary it is a boat and requires upkeep by providing some crafted items like this, of course this is all speculation but i could see this being the case. I tried to reach the ocean floor a few times using the anchor in a fatigue zone but it stopped me just short and when i continued to swim down i died immediately even though i still had my fatigue bar going down.

Cannot be obliterated either. As someone only partway through the Blacksmith quest chains, this is currently the only item I can craft with felslate, and felslate is wasting space in my bag as I've gathered so much, so I was hoping I could sink some felslate into obliterum. But NOPE!

I was going to make a bunch of these anyways, since felslate is no longer as costly with the new expansion... but it doesn't even stack! So while 20 Leystone Buoys takes a single bag space, 20 Felslate Anchors takes 20 bag spaces. -_-

These can drop frequently from the Sac d’objets à ancre, and annoyingly don't stack or have a sell to vendor price!

Has anyone tried using this in Vasjir where that area is where you die before you reach it with the clam thing? Or has anyone know where a kraken is? has a kraken been data mined anywhere for next patch? Maybe its used for a secret where secret discord needs it?

Tried to use it over the Abyssal Breach in Vashj'ir. It just got me stuck in the water, unable to move for its duration. I think it might have a range limit.

Felslate Anchor just dropped for me by doing alchemy "Transmute: Herbs to Anchors" for my anchor weed daily cooldown.

These drop often from Bag of Anchors, have no vendor price and don't stack. Here is a macro to delete them out of your bags with one click if you don't want to install yet another addon:

/run for bag = 0,4 do for slot = 1,GetContainerNumSlots(bag) do local item = GetContainerItemLink(bag,slot) if item and string.find(item,"Felslate Anchor") then PickupContainerItem(bag,slot) DeleteCursorItem() end end end

You can use this to delete any named item by changing the name in the quotes. Just be careful.
