This totem is great for the Elem Shaman, but as totems are rare, do not be surprised to keep it up until your 70. This drops from DM the most, and coveting this is great.

However, the buyout price is wrong. It sells for over 80g most of the time...even upwards of 100G depending on the server.

If you're an elemental Shaman, this is perhaps THE best Totem you'll be able to get your hands on until you reach 70 and are able to acquire Totem of the Void (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=28248) from Mechanar.

It's also the only totem that's BoE atm. Sure, you can replace it when you hit 70, but for alts and stuff, it's awesome imo

This is an incredible totem for leveling as it practically voids the need for doing totem quests and carrying them around, even at level 20 it can replace all your earth fire water and wind totems. I was lucky enough to nab it for 20g, and it helped me out alot since I was powerleveling via recruit a friend and didn't want to go running for out of the way quests.

Just to clarify, level 60 is required.

edit: I didn't realize it didn't need to be corrected to act as the totems.

i got this totem out of the AH for 60g then sold it for 300g now i wonder if i did the right thing hearing now that totems are rare

Which one do you think is best for a level 60 pvp Enhancement shaman? This , or Totem of rage (increases spell power of shocks by 30, however due to being insta casts the itll be lower) . Im thinking in terms of maelstorm insta casts.

While this is still useful in skipping the quests, or getting spells immediately, rather than having to complete the chain first, this is slightly less useful by the addition of Relic of the Earthen Ring (A) / Relic of the Earthen Ring (H)
Basically, as soon as you get your Air Totem at 30, you can go get a Totem of the Earthen Ring which counts as a Master Totem, and can be equipped in your relic slot. Later on, once you get a Totem with a bonus attached to it, you can even delete that one.

Prismatic

At the time the comment was written, it was a red socket. All relics were given a red socket. But the thing was, none of them were given a socket bonus, so the red socket was kinda moot, and Blizzard rather quickly changed the color from red to prismatic. It didn't actually change anything at all, except make gemming a little easier for those people who think you're only allowed to put socket matching colors in the socket.

Also, it seems... odd that DKs were specifically not allowed to use this. Sure they get their own relic from the starter quests that's better, and this relic has int on it, but still...

This was the only relic useful for Elemental Shaman back during Vanilla. This was what the relic was itemized as prior to Patch 4.0.1.

Equip: Increases damage done by Chain Lightning and Lightning Bolt by up to 33.
