Found them running in a counter-clockwise pattern along the path. Fairly sure you'll need them specticles to see them..

they travel in a pack of 5, suggested players 2 quest, so a skilled solo person of the right class can take out all 5...

they run about 7k HP each... deep fire mages... trinket/combust/pyro one to open, follow it with a fireball, scorch, and fireblast... if you do it right you can kill 1 before the other 4 melee you...

dragon breath the 4, blink away, fireball one more.. blast wave.. fireblast, frost nova... fireball a different target... et.. repeat all this until you take em down, just avoid too much melee when possible...

took me a lesser mana gem, a major healing pot, and a bandage(to be safe) to kill em all, but i was slacking

Actually, you don't HAVE to kill them all, so as a mage I Frost Nova'd them in place, killed one, and ran until they disengaged. Did the same on my Druid (just killing one and running, that is).

Actually, higly soloable....for an arc/fire mage....just prepare your Arcane Power and Presence of Mind, one of those spell dmg trinkets available too, and hit the last rider, blast him again, freeze the others, loot, go invisible and walk away...easy as pie.

70 Shadow Priest, i sololed this VERY easily. Just "Shackle Undead" one guy and Dot and blasted the other 2 to death.

Done easily as a 70 BM Hunter. Pet can easily survive - just don't rely on traps as they run over and don't trip them. Focus fire and they burn down quickly.

Dear all paladins planning to solo this quest,
dont do what i did and cast avenging wrath, i forgot it gives forbearence and then u cant bubble and run after u kill one. I used my trinket wich gives more ap, and avenging wrath and used ghostly strike, exorcism, and judgement of command. I downed when, then when i went for a bubble realized i couldnt and died before i could lay on hands

lol soloed as a 69 ele shaman, just drop earth elemental totem and zap one down, throwing a few heals on ur elemental along the way. Loot and run run run, or heal it more and zap a second. Got it on the first one i killed.

Soloed as a level x spec class. Popped my cooldowns, used a few of my class skills, and gg, phat lewts.

As a prot paladin at lvl 70 they are easily soloed. Didnt proc any trinkets or pots just straight out tank 'n' spank

If you press "M" to bring up the map, then click on this quest, you will see, sort of greyed-out, the long, circular path these guys take and the blue areas where the are likely to be found. It took me awhile, and yes, you do need the spirit goggles, same for the cloak, etc. I caught up with them on the road at 44, 26, which is near Coilskar point.

I encountered a strange bug: After having tried once on this one and getting clobbered, I came back after advancing a level and found to my dismay that the ghost riders were GREEN...that is, friendly, and couldn't be attacked. I frost nova'd one and he did attack me, but he stayed green and I couldn't touch him. I logged out and came back and the riders were still green. I didn't bother to report it to a Gamemaster because it's a lot of waiting around for an answer for just one quest, but I was wondering...has this happened to anyone else? My other quests behaved normally. Could it be intentional, that is, at lvl 69 the quest turns off? Never heard of that.

If you loose the spectrecles, go to Wildhammer Stronghold and ask Zonus the Judicator for some new ;)

I ran into 4 Cavalier fantôme de Karabor . Other comments say between 2 and 5. Maybe they settled on 4 as the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
1. Wear the Spectrecles to see them.
2. They run clockwise. Fly anti-clockwise to find them relatively easily.
3. Apparently each horseman drops the Assommoir de Fielsang
4. Loot the first kill to avoid multiple Assommoir de Fielsang
