Droprate is rather low. I'm guessing arround 20%. The mobs are too far away to pull multiple in order to speed things up. Most i've been able to pull as a prot pally is 2 spiders and 1-2 bats. Combine that with a 20% droprate and the questrequirement of 7 pieces and you got a waste of time...

If you don't need the quest for achievements or anything else, i suggest that you don't do it and spend your time on quests have a better xp/hour ratio.

I had a way better drop rate on Fresh Spider Ichor while letting crawlers attack me from under the ground.

Trapdoor Crawlers burrow every 20-30 seconds, remaining under the ground for other 20-30 seconds. That should be your moment to run into a disturbed ground and wait for the crawler to unburrow. Kill him and you'll get the Ichor.

The quest requires only few items so I cannot tell that you will have 100% chance to get an items this way, but for me it worked nicely.
