3500 armor wouldnt make you invincible, it would make you incredibly resistant to phyisical damage, seeing as the only true way to obtain an invincible character is to exceed the haste cap, so you would need ~3k haste on physical damage, and your melee DPS thus shoots from high to you can solo arthas at any level

Just tested on live realm. Use it before the pull, and after the 60 second cooldown is up you can use another pot in that fight. Also it does not benefit from Mixology which makes sense as it is a potion. Seems like a very useful potion : )

What they're saying is that the "out of combat" cooldown can be worked around by drinking right before you actually enter combat. That way, one minute later into the fight you can drink a second potion. You only need to be out of combat briefly for the minute cooldown to start.

Pretty neat trick, and valuable info for tanks.

This helps a ton on the Patchwerk 25 man fight, especially if your tanks are slightly undergeared. For hateful strikes, it shaves off about 1-2k from them. Also, if you drink right before starting, then again after it wears off, you can have the increased armor for 4 minutes. After that, you're on your own.

Edit: As a more up to date use, this is also very helpful on Kologarn since it will make up for a lot of the lost armor so that you're not completely gimped if you have to tank with the debuff.

Double Edit: Now useful on even more bosses! Such as main tanking Anub'arak through his free unmitigated hit every few seconds or trying to keep up with Algalon's relentlessness. Will no doubt have some uses in Icecrown as well, already shining on Lord Marrowgar or if you're going for the boat achievement.

Warriors (with 3/3 Armored to the Teeth) and Death Knights (with 5/5 Bladed Armor) may use this for a 2 minutes boost of ~~58 and~~ 97 AP ~~respectively~~.

Note that these totally DESTROY Runic healing potions for tanks...as far as effective health saved.

Not even factoring in that you can effectively double potion with these in a boss fight (use one right as you pull, and the CD starts so you can use another) - effectively allowing for up to 4 minutes uptime on the boss

Holy Crap! This Potions effect stacks with the Seal of the Pantheon's armor effect!

I went from 60% armor Mitigation without any bonus effects to 66% with both the potion and trinket. Meaning i required 10% less healing!

Great combo for hard hitting bosses or the start of big AoE pulls in raids or heroics.

I fell in love with these In BC when progressing through kara (were a life saver for Prince P2/3 while learning) and pretty much all of the T5/T6 fights. Indestructible potions are just the next step up. As commented before drink one before you're in combat and you can drink another one while in combat. Highly recommended for Sapphiron, Maexxna (Save for 30% enrage), Patchwerk and any other bosses that deal a large amount of physical damage.

On the 3.1 PTR it doesn't give me any additional AP throughout any point of its 2 minute duration with 3/3 armored to the teeth. AP is the same with it on as it is off.

If a warlock had some PvP gear on, refering to the high amounts of armor, popped this and Metamorphasis you're looking at about 40k armor... Pretty nice for an emergency off tank or just world PvP maybe.

Currently, Warlock PVP gear does not have any more armor on it than its respective tier pieces. You're thinking of PVP gear from Burning Crusade era (which actually has MORE armor value than any current cloth pieces do)... Refer to T7.5 chest with Deadly Gladiator chest for comparison. Exact same armor value.

On a side note. This also grants AP. (as some have said - just wanted 2 put some numbers on it)

Elixir of Protection + Indestructible Potion Grants a total of: 119,4AP / 71,6AP
Plus the 100AP from Elixir of mighty strenght. Which gives a total of: 219,4AP / 171,6AP
Now add the 40str/40stam food buff and your looking at a total AP of: 299,4AP / 251,6AP

Not bad imho. :) Considering that the 119,4AP / 71,6AP is from Defensive potions/elixirs.

ps: Granted Indestructible Potion only works for 2mins. But as some1 stated. You can have up to a 4min uptime. ^^

Depending on your gear, these may beat out Insane Strength or Potions of Speed for warriors. 3500 armor = ~97 AP for those two minutes from AttT. While pretty much a wash with haste potions, that means that if you really want to maximize dps, you should probably down an indestructible pot before a fight (Losing a few seconds out of 2 minutes isn't as big a loss as losing a few seconds for pulling off the 15 from a haste pot) and then have your potion cooldown during the fight for either more sustained dps from one of these or a haste pot for a burn phase.

Assuming that these stack with the dwarven racial (Stoneform), which adds 10% to your armor, and you have a nice little bit of mitigation. If you could time it to the proc from The Black Heart, you are talking an insane amount of armor.

Great on Deathbringer Saurfang fight to reduce his damage done/blood power gained, since reducing the amount of Blood power gained is the key to this fight and he only hits for physical damage.

This potion can be discovered via Northrend Alchemy Research! Yes, that's right, trainer taught recipes can be discovered via alchemy research thus WASTING the herbs required for research! Confirmed on the recipe page for this potion. This is a HUGE disappointment

Because not everyone just mindlessly presses "Train" like a madman as soon as it becomes available, simply because you can cut a good chunk of the expences of learning a profession by simply only training what you need.

Personally I think the ONLY char I have with a "full" profession is one with mining.

Obviously Pengwuino has skipped this recipe during his leveling of alch to save several hundred gold, thinking that this was a useless recipe. And then learned it with the research, which does indeed suck big time.

No reason to downrate a true post.

These have been reduced to a 15 second duration on the Cataclysm beta. The usefulness of these potions will drop drastically if that change goes live.

There is a fine line between overpowered and mandatory (at least for progression fights).

Right now you can have an uptime of roughly 4min during any boss encounter (one taken right before the pull so you are not on potion cooldown). Depending on the length of the encounter the influence can be quite significant (say on a 5min encounter, you have an uptime of 80% and for the rest of the duration you can pop other cooldowns).

Though I found using armor potions rarely add that much of an advantage (at best when you are undergeared for content you are trying to beat). Sure it can save your butt on hard hitting bosses (Brutallus from BC comes to mind, though back then you could have 100% uptime of an armor potion) and/or relieve the stress on the healers by a small amount, but in most encounters nowadays there is a lot more that makes the difference between victory and success. Take LK heroic for example. The fight is quite long (up to 15min), which is normal for endbosses. In the first two minutes using an armor potion doesn't do a lot. If you have trouble keeping the tank alive in this phase you probably won't get much further. So the 2 remaining minutes of "armor pot uptime" are best used in P3 or P4, where they can help, but it can only do so much as you have to live most of the fight without one. So once your group is able to do the fight quite well, it wont change a lot anymore.

So basically what this change does is render these potions almost useless, as 15s of a few percent reduced damage wont do a lot in most situations. Anything really threatening will probably require use of a proper tanking cooldown (like -40% damage or +30% life or anything along the lines) and anything else can also be done without such potions. It would be nice if Blizzard reconsiders this decision and either ups the duration again or provides a short duration benefit that's on the scale of -20% damage taken, which would effectively provide any tank with an additional cooldown per fight.

If a 10k healing potion is better, what's the point of it? Why do tanks even need two different potions at this point?

Stuff from the past expansion isn't supposed to be in line with stuff from the current expansion anyway. You should be comparing these two potions instead. Note the longer duration of the Cataclysm armor potion. If you're taking enough physical damage it will be preferable over the healing potion; in other cases, the healing potion is better. This is actually a much more interesting situation than during Wrath, where the huge power of the armor potions (plus the endless mana situation for healers) meant they completely trumped the healing potions. Now there will actually be a reason for tanks to carry healing potions too.

Potion indestructible is now Potion terrestre . I put a stack of 20 on the AH, came back later to see the name change, and the stats change.

This seems to be one of the only low level potions that still actually sells in the AH (Usually all i put in AH sells in the 12 hours). If i ever get any icethorns, this is the potion that i make and know that i will get couple of gold per potion.

If i try to sell any other low level potions, most of them just sit in the AH for an unknown amount of time and one or two will sell every couple of days.
