We assume 30% regen in the 5-second rule, 100% regen outside of it, trinket fully stacked. On the top of the table is your Intellect value, on the left is the percentage of the time while the trinket is proc'd that you spend in the FSR versus out of it.

Formula: f(x, y) = (5 * 0.0093271 * 180 * sqrt(x) * y) * 0.3 + (5 * 0.0093271 * 180 * sqrt(x)) * (1-y)
x is Int, y is time in 5SR. 0.3 is Spirit regen in 5SR.

Keep in mind that unlike a pure Spirit accessory, this trinket is not benefiting you during "downtime" unless you're still casting spells. To find its benefit in a specific fight, take the number above and multiply it by the % of the fight where the trinket is up, ie, in a 5-minute fight with a single 30-second break, the trinket is active for 480 out of 500 seconds. 480 / 500 = 96% of listed value. We need to further reduce the value by an amount that takes the ramp-up of the trinket into account, but Haste gums that calculation up, so it's left as an exercise to the reader.

I am a tree druid and must say that this is one hell of a sexy trinket considering i get 15% more spirit from talents and 15% of my spirit into spell power so

unbuffed with 666 int and 605 spirit it equals 22 spell power and 34 mp5
with 721 int and 665 spirit with kings it equals 34 spell power and 51 mp5
with mark and Kings 777 int and 729 spirit it equals 34 spell power and 55 mp5

I think the more gear you get and the more buffs you get this will become a ver ver interesting trinket, not to mention how good it will make innervate be :D !

Few practical pointer of this trinket:
- Each tick of channeled spell will procc it. In example mind flay will give you 3 stacks of it.
. Each time as holy when your surge of light, or holy conceration proccs, you will gain extra stack. So possible to get 3 stacks on one heal.
- Arcane torrent will give a procc out of this.
- Hymn of hope will give 5 (eh, forgot how many times it ticks) stacks of the trinket..

All in all, VERY usefull trinket. It is not hard to keep up the trinket without stepping out of 5SR.
And it always gives nice ammount of spirit when you most need it, when you are casting like hell.

Replaced my Blue Alchemy Trinket for this one and didn't regret, hehe!
On Naxx 10 got up to 1k+ Spirit, keeping 480mp5 casting, pretty good.
Easy to stack and mantain 10 buffs with HoTs, btw.

This trinket is somewhat counter-intuitive. The maximum benefit from spirit is reached out of the five second rule, however the short duration of the stacking buff this trinket applies (10 seconds) greatly limits potential oo5sr time if you're trying to optimize use of the trinket.

(This dynamic is somewhat similar to the Eye of Magtheridon from Magtheridon's Lair in Burning Crusade. This trinket proc'd 170 spellpower whenever a spell was resisted--however it's in the best interest of an offensive spellcaster to be hit-capped, which seriously reduces the number of procs from the trinket.)

Another poster referenced the alchemy trinket, which provides 59 spellpower, 50 haste and a 40% to mana and health potions. Simply looking at mana regen, one would have to keep all 10 stacks of this trinket up for 3 minutes continuously to equal the amount of i5sr mana regen the alchemist trinket gives you back on average (an extra 1700 mana on Runic Mana Potions).

However, even with the 5sr dynamics considered, for a holy priest this trinket still produces ~50 spellpower and 45-50 mp5 i5sr, 140-160 mp5 oo5sr, if you can manage to keep the stacks up. It's solid, but I wouldn't say exceptional.

Picked this up on my holy priest a couple days ago, and noticed a couple of tricks you can use to get the most out of this trinket.

Obviously you want to have this buff up while you're taking a regen nap, there are a couple of ways that priests can keep the buff up while still not casting any spells that break the 5SR. Hymn of Hope will proc the trinket several times, and costs no mana to cast. You can also use Inner Focus -- simply casting Inner Focus will refresh the buff stack, and then casting another spell to consume the Inner Focus charge will again refresh the stack. Using all of these tricks in succession, you should be able to keep the buff up for at least 30 seconds of OO5SR time.

Loving this trinket overall, 180 spirit from a single item is simply awesome.

edit: I should also mention that your cheapest spell to keep this buff up is levitate, if you want to stack it up before a pull, etc. Glyph of Levitate would be a good idea if you're going to spam Levitate as well!

Im a Balance druid on Aerie peak (Horde) and I respec resto often for 10/25 mans. I picked up both this trinket that accumulates spirit, and the trinket which accumulates bonus damage and they both work so orgasmiclly well.

Unbuffed now (including the 10 stack buff from the dps trinket) in balance spec I have 2k+ bonus spell power, in resto 2k~ bonus healing.

For balance though, the spirit tirinket isnt as viable as the 83 crit rating 603 spell power proc Badge trinket.

Hymn of Hope synergizes very well with this trinket. It will add to the stack per tick, effectively keeping the buff up during the hymn and a fresh 10 second duration after. Wait until you have 10 stacks of the buff, then activate Hymn, and that's a very nice mana regen nap. See if you can extend the O5SR further by hitting Inner Focus and then a heal after Hymn goes away.

Also,
Herbalists can extend this trinket's buff while not entering the 5SR by activating Lifeblood.

I've been reading about this and Illustration of the Dragon Soul, and it appears that you gain a charge for each buff/debuff that you apply to yourself or to your target:

Priests getting 2 charges for heals that proc Holy Concentration.
Mages getting 2 charges for fire crits (Ignite).

If you haven't already figured out where I'm going with this, my question is this. If you have both Illustration of the Dragon Soul and Majestic Dragon Figurine does casting a spell create a sort of endless loop in which both buffs from both trinkets are endlessly refreshed by the other?

I understand the trinkets cannot do this when only one is equipped, but would having two create a back-and-forth type effect in which both trinkets are refreshed by the gain of the other trinket's buff? I'm probably way off, but it's an interesting anyways.

Right now, you can summon a mechanical squirrel and it will proc the MDF; allowing you to maintain your stacks of spirit and stay out of the 5SR. :)

As of patch 3.0.8, this trinket does NOT work with instant cast spells. It only works with spells that have a casting time.

I'm seriously hoping this is a bug; if not, it is now one of my worst trinkets instead of one of my best (resto druid).

yea i just went to go mess around in dalaran and proc the trinket and it wasnt procing on my instant cast heals except for swiftmend and natures swiftness after ht, it makes me mad, i really hope its just a bug and gets fixed back to the normal procs on instant and channeled spells

As of 3.0.8 Holy Nova (priest) seems only to proc this effect if it does damage.

This has become pretty much useless as of the new patch and am anxiously awaiting a fix.

So far i can discern it only procs when you benefit from a DIRECT (not instant) heal, likewise, in order for a harmful spell to proc it. it has to do some damage, will not proc if the damage is absorbed, blocked, reflected, whatever. Doesn't proc on spells that don't cost mana (that' i'm aware of) and as such will be favoring a +sp trink till this is fixed

I spoke with a GM and he said that it might be hotfixed , or fixed in the next content patch.

I ran Heroic Naxx last night (the night of patch 3.0.8), level 80 Holy Priest. This trinket procced off of each individual heal of Circle of Healing. That means that with the CoH glyph, I got 6 stacks of the buff from a single cast. Don't know if this was to counteract the new CD, but I really hope it's not a bug. It was pretty awesome.

Still bugged for holy priests. No longer works with instants and channelled spells. Also no longer works with buffs, the hymn spells or the non dmg spells like levitate, mind vision, shield etc. Even COH and Holy nova and POH now give only 1 proc. Thank you blizz for stealing my trinket :(

PS: Still works only for renew but also got confirmation that it is also going to be "fixed" (kicked with the nerf boot).

This is by far best in the hands of a restroation druid or a holy priest. This coupled with the Spirit World Glass is an excellent mana regent/spirit combo for early raiding.

As a resto druid with 1018 spirit, 1673 spellpower, 907 mana regen and 314 combat regen, this figurine -once fully stacked- increases my stats to:
- 1225 spirit ( 207 increase )
- 1704 bonus healing ( 31 increase )
- 1080 mp5 ( 173 increase )
- 366 combat mp5 ( 42 increase )

I dunno 'bout all the other resto droods out there, but in raids, I throw HoTs around. Not an absurd amount, but at least enough to keep this buff maxed out during every encounter.
Sounds pretty damn good to me. Is it better than the egg of mortal essence though?
I'm too lazy to crunch numbers.
Regardless, I've yet to actually test it, replacing The Egg of Mortal Essence with it and keeping Spirit-World Glass as my second trinket, we'll see how it goes!
This looks pretty nifty for PvP too, in my opinion.

True this is a resto druid only trinket. For Holy priests is useless now because there are at least 4 trinkets way better. It is almost impossible to keep all the 10 charges up in normal raid healing.

As a CoH priest who focuses mainly on raid healing, I was very happy to pick this up for fights such as Patchwerk where I am single healing the MT. The mp5 is amazing for those fights where you are constantly using heals such as greater heal and mana can actually become a problem.

I'd currently rate this as second best regen trinket for Holy priests after Spark of Hope. Since 3.1 spirit-based healers barely spend time OOFSR anymore so it's safe to say that this trinket gives an awesome amount of 180 Spirit during a whole bossfight. A nice thing is that it also stacks with Holy Concentration procs for even more regen!

Next to the regen it also gives 45 Spellpower with 5 points into Spiritual Guidance. So it does give somewhat (20 Spellpower) more throughput than Spark of Hope, but the Equip effect of the latter makes the difference in longevity.

Although this is primarily a healer trinket, and people would most likely spit in the face of any dps needing on it, this is actually not a too shabby trinket for warlocks.

18 * 10 = 180 spirit passive throughout the fight
180 * 1.1 = 198 spirit with Blessing of Kings

With Fel Armor, Demonic Aegis and Glyph of Life Tap, that equals:
198 * 0.59 = 117 spell damage passive.

That's roughly above the average level 80 blue caster trinket (Mark of the War Prisoner* for example), excluding the extra bonus warlocks get from spirit - better Life Tap.

Conclusion: Warlocks, grab this if you're freshly dinged 80 or just have poor trinkets. If anyone argues, direct them to this comment. Keep in mind though that healers do benefit more from this, so don't be greedy.

* Mark of the War Prisoner, provided you activate it as soon as it's off CD, provides about 58 passive spelldamage. If you're hit-capped, Majestic Dragon Figurine is therefore better.
