These do NOT stack with BoK or GotW, they buff all your raid be it a 5 man party, 10/25 man raid or a 40 man bg raid.

The tool tip is off. It DOES make 1 drum with -50- charges. Also, you dont have to be a leatherworker to use it, just level 80 ^.^

On a sidenote, these are usable together with Drums of the Wild and the Runescroll of Fortitude should you for some crazy reason have neither a paladin, priest nor druid in your group.

if it were the case of just 1 pally i'd much rather them buff casters with wisd, melee with might, and someone slap the whole lot of them with this for a larger benefit overall but "luckily" if you can call it that paladins are far from scarce and you'll likely have one using crusader aura just because of the number there are and all the slightly beneficial auras being used

to get technical it's only 1/2 of druids since cat and bear are 2 different specs so cat, bear, tree, boomkin = 4, 2 use wisd and 2 don't, 2 + 2 = 4, number 4 is what you call it when two people hold hands while pooping

i really despise people who expect me to to individually inspect and REMEMBER the spec of every random shaman / druid / pally in a raid and buff them accordingly.

So Blizzard removes temporary weapon enhancements (oils & stones) because according to them it takes away the uniqueness of certain classes.

Sharpening Stones and also Wizard Oils have been discontinued. While they were something nice to use once in a while for most people for many raid guilds they were simply another burden to the cost of raiding. They also caused some issues in that they only helped certain classes and took away some of the uniqueness of other classes who were able to imbue their weapons with temporary enchants such as rogues and warlocks.

I think you're missing the point of these items...

Blizzard implemented these because they are crucial tanking buffs that are unique to certain classes. Sharpening stones / mana oils could be bought from the AH, and brought to a raid. These buff items can be bought from the AH, and brought to a raid. Good luck buying a (Druid / Paladin / Priest; choose whichever your 10m run is lacking) off the AH and using it when you buff up during said raid.

all im waiting for now is drums of heroism/bloodlust. shamans are among the hardest classes to find, and even a lot of my 25man pugs have to do without them :/

Does anyone happen to know, if you buff a group with this, and then leave, do they remain buffed?
Considering bringing it around on my mage. "Hi, my DPS is crap, but I brought kings!" -- but wouldn't want to use it and then just get kicked and leave the jerkfaces with the buff. :(

Edit: It appears to stay on a person even when they leave the group -- like your regular single-person buffs(blessing of kings), unlike your party/raid buffs(greater blessing of kings). So it has that disadvantage for what I was thinking, but that's pretty cool.

I do a lot of soloing on my pally (BC heroics, Kara, MC, ZG) and I actually carry guru's elixir, elixir of mighty fortitude, drums of the wild, and these drums all bound to a castsequence macro. They all stack along with blessing of might. Usually if there is no other pally or druid in the team when I am doing a random, I'll buff wisdom and might, then fire off both drums. I just like the added buffing they give off since they stack with the elixirs.

Man, this seems really unstable. I've tried it in 10 mans when we only have 1 paladin, the idea being: use the drums for kings and let the paladin apply class specific buffs (wis, might, etc). For some reason, it never seems to work well, but I can't figure out the pattern/reason for it failing. I've seen some comments that if someone has it already and you re-apply (due to someone not being in range or after a rez) then it takes the buff away from others in the raid. Also seen that if someone already had kings, but the paladin changes to a class specific buff, the drums don't work.

NEVER have any issues with drums of the wild. Does anyone know the reason why the buff would not work on raid members, or the pre-conditions for applying the buff?

Most any consumable that buffs you (elixir, flask, etc) cannot be purged in pvp. But Kings, Arc Brilliance, Fort (etc) can be. So, now that we have a consumable that affords you one of the latter buffs, can it be purged?

Seems unfair for a player to buy an item for gold, buff himself with it, and then some other player removes it with a free spell.

Leatherworkers need a set of drums for arena that are not consumed when used and are slightly less potent, much like alchemists have. These are nice to have for raiding though when you don't have a pally in the group.

I havent seen a note anywhere as of yet but I think it is safe to assume that this is going to be nerfed (perhaps to 4%?) with 4.0.1 patch because Blessing of Kings will only give 5%.

These drums just increased in importance with the 4.0.1 patch. Unless something is changed, Mark of the Wild and Blessing of Kings can no longer exist together. However you CAN apply the effect of these drums together with Mark of the Wild. So every raid will need to have a set of these drums for an extra 4% increase to stats.

One advantage they do have is they do not consume mana Even though it is a weeker buff, during long raids were conservation of mana, food and pots can be critical they are a nice backup buff, As most of us are aware of, many Druids are leather workers so its just another weapon in our arsonal

Currently (since 4.2?) the resistance with this buff No Longer Stacks with other Resistance abilities,
such as Resistance Aura, Healing Spring Totum (glyph), Shadow Protection etc.

- In the past, it would stack up, granting +52 resistance at the cost of 1% stats.

These are great for soloing old raid bosses for an extra boost. They stack with flasks, food, and scroll buffs such as Runescroll of Fortitude III.

These are great for "extreme" solo play, mats aren't too hard to farm & 50 charges saves on bag space... the boost from this is roughly twice what I get from the very best (+300 to main stat) well fed buff, for some of you with better gear it'll be over 2x the DPS gain of the best well fed buff... nearly as good as one of the expensive flasks. Leatherworking doesn't have many perks... this is one of them.

The in-game tooltip is a little confusing and could lead you to believe that you must be a leatherworker to use the drums, but this is not the case.

I made a few sets of these just a few days ago to confirm that the buff stacks with Visions of Insanity (which counts as both a Battle & Guardian Elixir) or a flask and a well-fed buff, and confirmed that it does. It gives a Magic buff that will stack with anything aside from the +5% Agi/Str/Int buff it emulates, and can potentially be dispelled.

A great place to farm the mats is in Sholazar Basin; "The Savage Thicket" is crawling with Protodrakes that drop Icy Dragonscales. Drums of Speed (movement speed buff) & Drums of Panic (AoE-type 2-second fear on up to 5 nearby enemies) also work at level 90, both with a 2-minute cooldown. Drums of Panic require Honored with Keepers of Time and the pattern is purchased from Alurmi.

The Blizz forums were going nuts a few days ago with people upset about a NEW "Drums of..." that LW can craft in the 5.4 PTR (and will hopefully carry over into the release), called Drums of Rage. Apparently it currently gives 100% of the Blood Lust/Heroism/Time Warp/Ancient Hysteria (Core Hound) buff, which has a few Shaman upset, but I am almost certain it'll be nerfed to 80% (following convention) if it does make it into 5.4... something like 24% boost to ranged/spell/melee haste for 40 (possibly 32?) seconds.

Oddly enough, a quick check of my auction Add-On's database showed that in the past year, these drums were only listed once at the AH... buyout price was 10 Gold, and it doesn't seem like they sold.

Very sad to say that before WoD (6.00) a skinner could get the mats for 2 or 3 of these (50 hits each) in one run of Ruby and Obsidian Sanctums. Now, mobs in either give no leather. Real downer, Bliz.
