This is the new Epic Gem of choice for caster dps since Intellect = spell damage in Cataclysm
(NOTE: This gem is only available to players with Jewelcrafting)

I would expect the Epic gem version to have around 56 Intellect on it since the Rare type Intellect gem has +40 Intellect on it.

Intellect to Spell Power Conversion

Q: What is the conversion rate for intellect to spell power for Cataclysm?
A. Each point of intellect grants one point of spell power, excepting the first 10 points. This is vaguely similar to attack power, where each point of strength or agility gives two attack power, excepting the first 10 points.

Intellect is now a Red gem, as opposed to yellow, like in Wrath of the Lich King (which is now also red as a result of patch 4.0.1. Before, it was yellow.)

Update: It would appear that Blizzard has reversed the change outlined below and Chimera's Eye gems will remain at +67 stats.

As a result of Blizzard releasing epic quality gems in the 4.3 patch, this gem (and other's cut from the Chimera's Eye) will be gaining ten additional stat points, pushing this from +67 Intellect to +77. Overall that increases our profession bonus up to 111 from 80; at least until the Brilliant Queen's Garnet becomes widely available and closes the gap once more.
