Its not meant to heal you to full health in one use. Its meant to be a...drumroll please...bandaid.

35,000 hp over 8 sec is still quite an amount of health for anyone doing anything without a healer. Which is why you'd be using these in the first place.

Bandaids are not replacements for healers!

I think these are going to be quite worthwhile for all classes to keep on them in Cataclysm, even during raids. Now that snipe healing is more or less gone, and healer mana, if everyone in a raid carries a free, 35k heal with them, it could really ease the burden at times.

You gotta be a bit mindful about when you use them. Bear with me when I say that it's usually not really a good idea to use them only to save healer mana (when mana is the problem, not throughput) if you could be DPS'ing in that time instead. Why? Consider that the time you spend not DPS'ing means the boss will live for that much longer, and be able to cause that much more damage to the tank/raid, which the healers will then have to cough up mana to deal with anyway.

However, it's a great thing to use if healers are behind on the healing itself! Then you'll help them catch up and stabilize the situation again. Lastly, remember you can use it on others than yourself :)

I love bandages and they have alot of uses but I wish they´d make it not break on DoT DMG. Currently the only possibility to use them is if you have something like CoS or if you have no DoTs on you (Which is highly unlikely in a PvP and even sometimes in a PvE situation).

As of the time of this comment, Dense Embersilk Bandages heal for 42k over 8 seconds, up from 35k.

Note that these are usable at 500 first aid skill, so if you have multiple 85s, only one needs to be maxed out in first aid. The rest can sit at 500. When the next expansion comes there will surely be a faster way to level from 500-525.

As of patch 5.0.4, Bandage dense en braise-soie can no longer be crafted.
Bandage épais en braise-soie has been upgraded, so they both heal for 35,008 HP over 8 seconds.
The only real difference now is the skill level requirement.

As of 5.04 you may need to re-learn Field Bandage: Dense Embersilk, and Dense Embersilk Bandage. However, they now heal for the same amount (35,008). You may want to save your gold if you already know Heavy Embersilk Bandage.
