Pour avoir accès à cette quête, j'ai d'abord tenter de tuer tout les mobs du canyon mais sans succès.

J'ai fais la suite de quête du Magistrat Salomon et sur la quête "Le grand canyon" j'ai eu au bout de 4 mob tuer la quête en lootant un mob.

It appears that you must start the chain from We Must Prepare! from Magistrate Solomon in order to be able to loot this. Many kills of gnolls prior to starting that chain did not result in a drop, whereas I got it on the 3rd kill after beginning that chain.

Obviously not terribly scientific of me, but seems logical.

Confirmed, in a pseudo-scientific manner. I was on Régler le gnomotophone and went on a killing spree from the graveyard to the cave in the north without a single drop. I completed the quest, accepted Le grand canyon, and got it on my very next kill.

Confirmed: The scroll will not drop until you reach the Canyon Romp part of the quest.

Confirmed on 11/30/12 this item will NOT drop until you start the chain for tuning the gnomecorder and canyon romp. i spent well over an hour farming this item on my 42 monk in attempts to get the sword reward for transmog. after that long, i figured wowhead must certainly have some answers. it wasnt plainly clear but after digging, found this page, started the other chains which i had abandoned prior thinking nothing of them.

on my third kill after begining Canyon Romp, i got the scroll. Now im a happy owner of a low lvl ninja sword for transmog and can sell my 500g blue look alike and recoup my losses. THANKS WOWHEAD

Ok, Second Gnoll that I killed after getting Canyon Romp dropped the note. This is why I love Wowhead. Was pulling my hair out until I read a few of the comments below telling me to finish a few of the quests first!
