Don't look so smug, I know what you're thinking, but not having seaforium charges in Wrath was merely a setback! Did you honestly think I'd trust the future to some weak, half-effective BC charge? Oh no, it was merely an instrument. A stepping stone to a much larger explosive.

I imagine that these might open the last door in heroic Deadmines without setting off the trap on the cannon. The mats cost around 150 gold on my server, so I wouldn't make them for this purpose, but you might have some left over from leveling if you didn't AH them. Speaking of which, they currently go for 10-20 gold on my server.

Moderately useful when attempting Vainqueur vigoureux de VanCleef, saves around 5 seconds (depending upon how quickly it is used) on Vanessa's nightmare event. Used on the door immediately after Faucheur 5000 is slain during the event.

With the ability to open skill level 525 locks, these things will be useful all the way till the end of the next expansion (if maximum lock difficulty continues to scale as it does now, at level cap * 5).

I don't understand why these are so expensive to make. Currently it costs 46 gold to make _one_ of these. Only profitable thing to use these with are the Elementium Lockboxes, but the greenie + 30 gold you get from it usually turns out to be a loss.

Wish you could create 5 of these with the current materials instead, or even 2. After all, it requires 2 Electrified Ether to make one.

They really need to have things like locked doors and traps in the game again, like Dire Mail North. You should have to collect keys to open doors, like from the guards. It made things so much more interesting. Plus you'd have a reason to specifically bring Engineers or Rogues.

They nerfed these in 5.1. Now they only open up to 400 locks. And without a newer Blastpack, there's no way for us Engies to open our Ghost Iron Lockboxes anymore.

EDIT: As noted below, there is a newer explosive charge. I have no idea where it came from, though. I was sure it wasn't in my recipe list before, but whatevs. We can still pick our locks, that's all I care about.

These have been stealth nerfed. I guess Blizz clicked on to us engi's using them for cheap lockbox opening and brought them down to 400 in patch 5.1. I was quite shocked when I when to open a ghost iron lockbox and found that it didn't work. Hopefully they will add a higher lvl of blastpack but I'm not going to hold my breath. Back to paying rogues I suppose.

Useful for the Wrath Coffret en titane, Minuscule coffret en titane, and Coffret en givracier. No longer useful for the Mists Coffret d'ectofer or even the Cata Coffret d'élémentium now that it has been nerfed. You'll have to use Baril de poudre de serrurier for those.

Don't use this when you are low on health because it can blast you for 30-40%of your health.

Post-squish this opens lockboxes that require lockpicking 35 or lower, and thus is equivalent to Baril de poudre de serrurier.
