When used near the broken siege machines it releases an Arcane Explosion and reveals scrap metal for you to pick up. be careful of the restless soldiers.

Fun note, this item also seems to allow you to detect stealth affects. At least from friendly targets.

Example for me was I was doing the daily related to this item when after using it the explosion revealed a stealthed Alliance Rogue to me. After a moment he disappeared again and upon another explosion he reappeared.

Rather amusing.

Also it seems that now the item is taken from your inventory when you turn in the quest rather then you having to destroy it.

Its fun to use this item and trick ppl you are a arcane mage using arcane explosion. I was questing with a friend and saw me use it and said "How the hell are you using arcane explosion as a hunter?" xD

Can not be used outside of Tol'barad or the Tol'barad Peninsula (for anyone wondering.)
