The total uses and/or mats for this seem off compared to the regular Cauldron of Battle. This provides 17 flasks at a material cost of 12. The regular Cauldron of Battle provides 7 flasks at a cost of 4 flasks + 8 Deathblood Venom. Base material costs are therefore 192 herbs + 240 volatile life for the big cauldron compared to 72 herbs + 80 volatile life for the regular cauldron which is much cheaper on a per flask basis. Unless it ends up in a situation where Stormvines are significantly more expensive than other herbs the regular caludrons look to be a lot more cost effective.

Here's some math on just how long it will take your guild to get this cauldron. The first set will be assuming you don't use Cauldron of Battle once you hit 10,000 flasks, the second set will be assuming that you do.

If you raid 4 hours a night for 3 nights a week: 83.33 weeks, or 19 and a half months. Assuming 100% flask uptime during raids and no alchemists in the raid. Basically, you wont be getting it until the next expansion.
If you raid 4 hours a night for 4 nights a week: 62.5 weeks, or 14.6 months. Basically, not until 4.3.
4 hours a night for 5 nights a week: 50 weeks or 11.6666667 months. Basically not until 4.3 or very late 4.2.

Now here's the thing, at 10,000 flasks and with all the guild perks, you can basically turn the 4 flasks needed to make the small cauldron into 20 flasks (The cauldron gives 10 uses with Happy Hour and lasts for 2 hours instead of one with Chug-A-Lug).
So after 10,000 flasks made, you'll be spending 12 flasks to give all 25 people 2 hour flasks. So, let's take a look at how long those same three guilds will take once they switch to the small Cauldron at 10,000 flasks.

4 hours a night for 3 nights a week: 241.66 weeks which is 56.4 months which is 4.7 years
4 hours a night for 4 nights a week: 181.25 weeks which is 42.4 months which is 3.5 years.
4 hours a night for 5 nights a week: 145 weeks, or 33.8 months, or 2.8 years.

Basically, unless Blizzard changes the requirements for this Cauldron you will not ever get this cauldron. Period. Never.

I'm not seeing any good reason to craft this cauldron rather than just making three regular Cauldrons of Battle. For the same cost of making one of these (minus the deathblood venom, whose value is negligible), you can craft three caudrons of battle and receive 4 more flasks.

Your one-stop-shop for info on Flask Cauldrons!

Once your guild earns the achievement Mix Master (now 1000 cataclysm-only flasks) you can purchase the recipe Recipe: Cauldron of Battle from a guild vendor if you have friendly reputation or higher with your guild.

Once your guild earns the achievement Better Leveling Through Chemistry (now 3000 cataclysm-only flasks) you can purchase the recipe Recipe: Big Cauldron of Battle from a guild vendor if you have friendly reputation or higher with your guild.

There are 3 Guild Perks that affect Cauldrons:

Chug-a-lug (rank 1) (50% longer flask duration, guild level 10)

Happy Hour (50% additional flasks, 7-->10 or 20-->30, guild level 20)

Chug-a-lug (rank 2) (100% longer flask duration, guild level 22, does NOT stack with Chug-a-lug (rank 1))

Still unsure if the Alchemy passive Mixology will stack with the guild perk Chug-a-lug -- it is possible that Alchemists will receive 3 or 4 hour flask durations.

Making a cauldron is always more efficient than drinking a normal flask. For Recipe: Cauldron of Battle you receive 7 flasks for the price of less than 5, as 8x Deathblood Venom is not as expensive as a flask. The larger version, Recipe: Big Cauldron of Battle is even more efficient, as it requires no deathblood venom, and you simply receive 20(30) flasks for 12 flasks.

Assuming your guild is level 22, you do 25-man raids, and you have unlocked Recipe: Big Cauldron of Battle with the achievement Better Leveling Through Chemistry , you will need 48% as many flasks as usual for everyone to be flasked up (12 flasks required for 25 people), and the flasks will last twice as long as normal, for a net flask-effectiveness of 416.67%, or alternatively a net flask-material-reduction of 76%.

Multiple cauldrons may be dropped at the same time, so as soon as you unlock Recipe: Cauldron of Battle for maximum material efficiency you should drop one cauldron in a 10-man raid, or 3 cauldrons in a 25-man raid, and have the people that miss out flask or elixir themselves normally.

MACRO: FLASK OF BATTLE
If you have a macro you always use (aka "spam") in combat, you can add the following to it and would help maximize your flask's duration:

/use Flask of Battle

This macro only works for the conjured Flask of Battle from cauldrons.

Benefits:
- You'll not forget to pop your flask (as long as you remember to loot it)
- You'll only pop your flask when combat begins (helps maximize your flask's duration)
- You'll pop a new flask immediately after the old expires, if you're in combat (typically the raid would drop a new cauldron just before your current flask expires. Flask of Battle does not overwrite any existing flasks, hence if your flask expires during combat, it would pop it when you use your macro)
- You'll not be able loot a second flask from cauldrons if you already have one in your bags since it is unique (helps with the "... did someone take an extra flask?" problem)

If you do not have a macro you spam during combat, you can create a macro with the spell you use all the time and add the above macro, for example:

/cast <spellname>
/use Flask of Battle

and move the macro onto your actionbar.

If everyone in the raid uses this macro, everyone's flask would last a little longer and would also all end at the same time.

This is no longer the correct raw mats as Blizzard has changed the mats needed for the Flasks. The new raw mats list, for both cauldrons, is as follows:

Is there any spec that procs extra cauldrons while making? Elixir or Potion master? Not that I was planning on getting any extra on my Transmution master but I made 20 and didn't get any extra. :P

Where are people getting 20 > 30 flasks with happy hour?

Tooltip says it has 17 uses. 50% more of 17 is 17*1.5 = 25.5 converted to integer is 25.
