I find it very interesting that this item only requires 1 skill in alchemy. that means a lvl 5 character could get the flask :P
Wouldn't matter much though since you atm need 300 alchemy to use it but it sure will be extremely OP unless blizz raises the alchemy skill req to at least 450
Would be rather fun though running around using the actual flask. Would be usable in lvl 35. fun fun :P

This item is used as a quest turn-in to acquire a Flacon de l'alchimiste. However, since the beginning of the mop patches (5.0.4), the Alchemist's Flask is made by this spell: Flacon de l’alchimiste, which is purchasable from a trainer and uses vanilla level herbs. We'll have to see if this quest will make it to release in a different form.

The Alchemist's Flask has a bad tooltip. It's really only 320 added to your highest stat.

Flacon de l'alchimiste is a spiritual replacement for Flask of Enhancement, which no longer exists in MoP. I say spiritual because the fact that this flask and that flask do not share the same item number means that when the 5.0.4 patch happens every Alchemist will lose their Flask of Enhancement and need to create a brand new Flacon de l'alchimiste to use from then on.

The mats are not a mistake: the recipe for this flask is learned at 300 Alchemy skill and the buff now scales with level (visible by looking at the buff here: Flacon de l’alchimiste) indicating that this perk is now available to Alchemists of much lower level than previous. I don't have a lower level alchemist with high enough skill handy to verify this claim offhand though.

As already mentioned, the 3420 value listed currently on Wowhead is incorrect: it is 320 in the beta. This bug is affecting the slider for the buff spell I linked above though, so you can't rely on it to correct estimate the value at a certain level as the high end is incorrect.

Edit: Note that this comment was originally made against the beta, before 5.0.4 hit live. When 5.0.4 did hit live, all alchemists that had Flask of Enhancement had Flacon de l'alchimiste mailed to them automatically.
