Here are just a few ways you can use this otherwise pointless item. You just have to be creative!

Put it down in front of Taran Zhu and sarcastically ask, "is that a tree in your monastery, or are you just glad to see me? Because it looks like a really nice tree and it fits in well with the snowy décor you've got going on here. Really ties the place together."
Put down several in the Seat of Knowledge and re-enact the classic tale of the Forbidden Fruit.
Bring some of these to an in-game wedding!
Plant one on the throne in Orgrimmar and give the Horde a smarter Warchief!
Drop one on a boat, a tram, a turtle, a zeppelin, or an elevator, and look at it go!
Feeling bored at Blacksmith? Drop a few trees, and rename it to "Lumbermill."
Add some color to Hellfire Peninsula. For the love of all that is Holy, please add some color to Hellfire Peninusula.

I Just harvested the tree. I remember a quest where I attended a Npc Funeral & in the cut-scene he planted these trees in the plots around the grave. I don't know if you'll get anything or not, but it's worth a try. Find a grave site & plant 1 of each tree & lets see what happens. If anyone gets a drop or whatever, please post. Curious minds want to know. :)

When you plant these, they're never afflicted by negative status effects, like vermin or weeds. If you're just planting crops to help raise your rep(you get rep for harvesting) and don't need any of the veggies, then you could just plant these instead and skip the "tending to the crops" phase everyday.

Planted one of these on my farm yesterday and it's still there today. Going to leave it to see how long it lasts.

One time use, eh? Too bad. This would be pretty neat to add to the toy box ...

I think I'll just leave them planted at my farm in Halfhill. Goodness know I won't be spending that much time there anymore. But, I can still come "home" once in awhile and enjoy them year 'round.
