Will it proc from the new Devouring Plague heal? Because that would make it an excellent choice for shadow priests that need hit.

I just got this on my Discipline priest, and I can confirm that it will proc from atonement heals. Holy fire, smite and penance were all able to proc it as long as I was close enough to the target to receive the heal. Very nice for healing heroics where I can just dps the whole time.

got this today and just tested it can proc along with

although I'd probably be better off with zen alchemist stone instead of empty fruit barrel as the intel proc is bigger even though the base spirit with the zen stone is only 300 when you reforge the mastery.

Quality of life change coming in Patch 5.2, according to the patch notes:

Effects for the following trinkets Esprits du soleil, Sceau polarisant de Qin Xi, and Relique de Chi Ji should no longer activate while outside of combat.

Despite the news that this would not proc outside of battle anymore on 5.2, it still does, at least this Raid Finder version.
