Permet d'obtenir sur les monstres de Pandarie un Coffre au trésor pillé avec un taux de loot entre 5 et 10 %. Ce coffre contient des pièces d'or mais peut aussi contenir des étoffes d'éolaine, des minerais (trilium/ectofer), du cuir exotique, des granules d'harmonie mais aussi des items de qualité rare.

Le buff Potion de chance est exactement identique à celui des herboristes (Veine du lotus) obtenu après avoir cueilli un Lotus doré. Par contre, ils ne sont pas cumulables.

Added in patch 5.1, this only requires one Golden Lotus instead of three, but lasts 20 minutes instead of 1 hour.

Basically, you're getting exactly the same "value for money" (or materials, as the case may be), except these will be easier to sell (being cheaper), and more useful for people who only have a limited amount of time to farm/quest. Also means it's not as much of a waste if your dungeon/raid/BG pops shortly after having downed one - a real pain for DPS with the old potion.

Causes mobs to drop Coffre au trésor pillé. The drop rate is roughly 5-10% (ie: 1 in 10 to 20 kills). The box can contain cloth, ores, random green items, motes of harmony, and gold.

The buff is identical to the herbalist's Veine du lotus buff from picking a Lotus doré. They do not stack.

Brilliant item to use while farming for Éclat céleste, or grinding Prince noir reputation.

The potion seems not to work on the other faction mobs in the Landfall area. Spent a full duration of the buff constant-killing goblins (about 125 kills), and did not get a single treassure.
I'd love to be proven wrong, though.

So far I've used 20 potions and have had pretty various results so these numbers vary very much.
The guaranteed items to get in fairly high quantity every time are Black/White Trillium ores, Black Trillium tend to drop more often though.
In 20 minutes or one potion of killing about 450 Essence du Désespoir I looted between 20-32 Coffre au trésor pillé and they have contained the following. Remember these mobs are only available during Le désespoir de Zhu

6-20 Minerai de trillium blanc
9-33 Minerai de trillium noir
7-35 Étoffe d'éolaine
4-14 Granule d'harmonie
5-17 Cuir embrumé
4-9 Green items between level 83 and 87
Most Commonly 2.50-3.80 Gold and from my experience about 15% chance of 22-28 Gold.
They also drop blue items very rarely, so far the blues I've looted are Ceinture de munitions de Repin Carabine longue du gardien de la muraille Poignes crépitantes de Toremu
all from Coffre au trésor pillé.
Those Results are only from Coffre au trésor pillé whereas Essence du Désespoir only drops Motes of Harmony and two gray items, one very frequently and one much less as well as well as occasional greens.

Edit: These mobs do no longer give any loot making my post irrelevant to late 5.1 and forward.

Best way I've found to maximize your grind uptime with these new potions:

1.) Head to your "grind" location
2.) Chug a potion
3.) Immediately log out - stay logged out for at least 40 minutes
4.) When you log back in, you'll have 20 mins + your timer will be expired by the time it wears off, allowing you to chug another potion.

You'll net 40 minutes of grinding at one time versus 20. Yes it's a pain in the ass to schedule your toon for these purposes, but until Blizz fixes the cooldown, this will be your best bet at maximizing your efficiency.

Good news, everyone!

The cooldown has been adjusted with 5.2, and now matches the 20 minute duration of the buff.

Edit for future reference: This item was originally Potion de chance supérieure which required 3x Lotus doré with a 1 hour duration and 1 hour cooldown. Later the material requirements were dropped to 1x Lotus doré and the recipe became Potion de chance with a 20 minute duration and 1 hour cooldown. The 5.2.0 patch resolved the discrepancy between the duration and cooldown, bringing both to 20 minutes.

Not being 90 and not having any decent spots to grind with this active, I decided to kill these Outcast Sprites, which respawn quite quickly and are easy to kill.

I simply used my ranged abilities to pull all I could handle and AOE'd them down, and after their deaths more would almost instantly respawn, which I'd pull and AOE again, making a sort of cycle.

In the 20 minutes of my potion I probably made around 14 boxes, a bunch of greens and some motes of harmony.

Maybe just no luck, but with lvl 86 rouge constantly killing lvl 85-86 beasts (skinning) and get only one Coffre au trésor pillé with 3 Minerai d'ectofer and about 3 gold :) Killed about 50-60 mob.

The chests gained from mobs while using this potion have changed slightly with 5.2. Coffre au trésor pillé is now a common quality item instead of uncommon, and has what appears to be the same contents as before.

This greatly affects the drops in groups, such as dungeon finder heroics and LFR, where group loot is on. Earlier it was rolled on, due to being uncommon quality, but now you only get the chests that are on your corpses since it's common quality, like how Granule d'harmonie is distributed. In The Dread Approach LFR, I went from getting 10-20 chests in 5.0 and 5.1, to getting a single one in my first run in 5.2.

On the upside, this potion got it's CD reduced to 20 minutes, corresponding to the duration of the potion. :)

Useless #$%^, waste of golden lotus. Not worth anything. Used several times, and every time would have made more gold off the lotus, and didn't get what I was hoping for. Hell, 7 motes of harmony in 20 minutes is the only thing that came of it. !@#$ Blizzard for giving us potions of treasure find, and following that up with this %^&*.

Ok. It's been awhile since I've seen any detailed "tests" on these. So I thought I'd do one.

Obviously, being able to kill things fast is a plus. So these become more beneficial the better geared you become (in theory).

I'm an item level 508 ret pally. I popped the 20-minute potion, and started killing in Valley of the Four Winds. Nothing, after several dozen quick kills.

So I thought that the level of the mob might have something to do with it. So instead of killing level 87 mobs, I flew into Dread Wastes, and basically killed as fast I could for the remainder of the potion.

Unfortunately, I do not have a total count for the creatures killed. But I did get the Plundered Treasure off of these mobs at a much higher rate.

Here is my total for the full 20 minutes:

10 Ghost Iron Ore @ 2.78 gold each on my server = 27.80 gold

Cost of 1 Golden Lotus ranges from 54 to 58 gold, typically

So, a 300+ gold "profit" for this grind that is extra by using the potion.

I have now done 3 LFR runs within the past week using these potions, and have not gotten a single Treasure to drop. Just an FYI.

While it specifically says "monsters in Pandaria" I can confirm that Coffre au trésor pillé will drop from "Battlefield Barrens" related mobs.

I gotta do some testing to find if the lvl of the monster affects their drop percent. I also gotta find out how many monsters per minute you need kill to make it cost effective, as drinking a golden lotus every 20 minutes is expensive! I must say this is a must have if you're grinding away with your skinner where you'll surely be mowing down a monster every 15-20 seconds. I'll post back here as I find out more.

I can confirm that the potion of luck does in fact work in LFR. I did a single quick run through Pinnical of storms we ended up right at the last boss. Killed the shield guys and I got a plundered chest. However it wasn't from one of my drops. It works much like the northrend skill for tailorers which allows them to loot extra cloth. Even if it's from someone elses loot. So it's not just from only your loots. I was afraid to use one of these potions (which go for around 500g on my server) in a lfr due to getting a rare loot there. I was glad I tried even if it was a short run. Will be using one again.

Nice way to grind these is in the mines area on Isle of Thunder. If you get Bénédiction de l’animus + ten stacks of Vague de puissance you are extremely effective, plus you have the chance to get IoT drops that could sell on AH too.

Question! When you use the potion of luck, does it work when you use it before you kill something for desired drop rate or does it still work before and after you are fighting a mob? Say I use the potion via mid mob fight or boss fight, does it still work for the higher chance loot drop? Please reply! :)

Today it seems either Mistfall or Potion has been nerfed. On pulls of 10-20 mobs half the time no chest drops. After an hour of farming I think i got less than half of the chests and motes I normally do.

It could be the mobs were nerfed this week. If anyone else can comment please do

loot from the boxes seems a lil meh also but that might have just been a RNG monster kicking my ass.
ive pop'd about 5 pots at new farm spots and it just isnt the same still very profitable but i was using it to farm trillium. i could get more trill/hour farming with these pots then flying around now im starting to rethinking trillium farming /sigh

the Plundered Treasure took an insane stealth-nerf in the last couple weeks (last time i farmed was early-Aug working as normal). The drop rate and gold loot of the chests seems to be the same, but the Cloth/Ore/Mote/Leather only drop 1/3rd of times and in lower quantity now

Potion de chance are the new treasure finding potions of the Mists of Pandaria expansion.
Potion de chance are easy to make with your own Herbalist: 1 Crystal Vial and 1 Golden Lotus is all you need.
A Potion of Luck causes mobs to randomly drop Coffre au trésor pillé.
The drop rate is anywhere between 5% and 10%.

Farming in specific areas has proven to be rather rewarding, and I will show you my favourite farming areas.

Remember that you can even equip Toison dorée causing the mobs that you kill to periodically drop extra coins. Please Note: The drop rate of the extra coins is a lot lower than that of the Potion of Luck.

Below are some routes I've found to be the most rewarding:

The island of Sra'vess is probably the best selection out of the two areas in Townlong Steppes.
You can pull big mobs, and basically AoE them all down and loot them.
It's quick, and you can sometimes do more than one run around the entire island.
When you get to the end of the route, don't pace back. Head back to the bridge and start again.

Farming in this area, rewards you with:
Coffret d'ectofer
Minerai de trillium blanc
Minerai de trillium noir
Minerai d'ectofer
Étoffe d'éolaine
Granule d'harmonie
Cuir embrumé
Souvenir buc-zakai
Drapé exposé au vent de Dirl

along with a decent amount of blues and greens which sell for hefty amounts on the AH.

The Fire Camp Osul is not a bad spot either, but the respawn time is really low for the mobs, because it's such a small area and you clear it quicker than Sra'vess. There is also a rarespawn here, so you may get lucky with some extras from him.

The route shown in the Dread Wastes image, is a rather basic route, but useful for those still farming rep for The Black Prince, or Klaxxi. You'll be lucky to get a few Éclats d'ambre d'effroi along the way which can be turned into a quest giver for gold. I'm not exactly sure how much gold is given, but perhaps it'll be worth your while in the end.

My Final Farming Area for mobs, and I was very surprised to see this work.

The Battlefield: Barrens weekly quest hub, is a great area for farming mobs.
On the plus side, you'll be constantly getting the Bois kor'kron, Naphte kor'kron, Viande kor'kronne and Pierre kor'kronne for your weekly quest, as well as Gold, Greens, Epic Gear, Valor (from the commanders), and on the odd occassion some honor points if you're into your PvP.

Personally my favourite area is the Kor'kron Lumber, as the mobs respawn quite rapidly. But if you're doing the weekly quest, you may as well attempt all four areas. I hope this was as helpful to others as it was for me.

In those 20minutes I looted:

After the last patch I have used the potion 3 times on 2 different characters, and on a 3rd character got the buff from gathering a golden lotus, and between these 4 buffs, killing sprites continuously, I have only received 2 or 3 treasures. So most of the times using the potion I got NO treasures. Previously I would get several treasures per 20 min buff session. Anyone else notice this change or was I just super lucky before?

After the nerf of Lutin des neiges malfaisant and Horreur éplorée, the best place I've found is the Mogu in in Guo Lai Ruins. I took my Guardian druid there and cleared out the western path, by the time I came back to the 1st room, the mobs had respawned.

Also a plus, the mobs there drop the keys to Cache antique de Guo-Lai. These contain, among other items, +300 food recipes and items to increase Golden Lotus rep.

Spent 1 hour here (used 3 potions) and collected 24 Coffre au trésor pillé as well as 11 Clé de cache antique de Guo-Lai. Solid choice

After the nerf I did some farming. It looks like the occasional 25g drop was cut roughly in half. I have yet to see over 12.5g after about 80 chests. It's an almost meaningless nerf and makes little difference in the overall gold gain after factoring in all the items which they drop.

Edit: After watching a vid of someone opening chests pre nerf it might be ALL gold drops cut in half. Still not crippling though.

Best place by far to use this is Unga Ingoo. Average of 23 per potion(20 min).

I have a set rotation, 3 separate pulls and by the time I kill the last set the first ones are respawning already. Mobs are level 87 and when pulling 15+ at once can hit a lil hard even at 90.

Today I noticed that you will not be able to gain Coffre au trésor pillé if you have your Ethereal Soul-Trader out. I suppose that when the Ethereal Soul-Trader gives you Ethereal Credit after you kill a monster, it interferes with the Plundered Treasure drop.
So before you apply your Potion de chance, make sure your Ethereal Soul-Trader is dismissed!

I have also submitted a bug ticket for this, and I hope that Blizzard fixes it soon enough.

as i wait for servers to come up today i was looking for ways to make some fast gold and this seems to be pretty profitable, and i may just start farming with these, in certain areas. Also note that if you can farm 10 motes of harmony or about that, in 20 min, ie if you aoe enough mobs to gain 1 spirit of harmony, then you can simply go to the vendor in shrine, and trade SOH for a golden lotus, thus can almost make a infinite supply of potions, farm SOH, grab lotuses, profit?

Makes it better if you have a ton of SOH's already stored up like i do, cuz i have 100+ on my hunter and nothing to use them on, so between golden lotuses and serpent eyes for daily jc cooldown, start cranking out some gold for sure. Great for a returning player on a boosted toon with little gold.

Currently, farming for Coffre au trésor pillé on the southern part of Sra'Vess, in Townlong Steppes, seems to be the best option.
(Anywhere from 3-10k an hour, depending on your ilvl, and the AH, and, of course, luck)

I've made a map of how the mobs can be grinded, but since I'm newly registered, I can't post a link to it yet (I'll do that later).

If you can, gather the Cor de bataille and Nénuphar flétri, on The Timeless Isle before going to Sra'vess.

Tailoring would also be a good idea to have, as you will get more Étoffe d'éolaine from the mobs.

The mobs already drop a lot of cloth. I was able to gather 8 stacks of Rouleau d'étoffe d'éolaine in an hour, with the tailoring passive, and I'm not really that good at farming.

If you're having trouble at Sra'vess, you can always grind smaller packs of mobs at Guo-Lai, in the Vale. There you might also get the Éclat céleste.

If you are a skinner and going out to farm leathers.... pick some of these up and use them while farming the goats in Valley. Adds a large profit margin to an already quality spot.

Sra'Vess is an exceptionally good spot to use one of these potions. Quick breakdown of my 20 minutes there:

Windwool Cloth x30
Vendor Trash Gear x2

Motes of Harmony x12

The cloth numbers aren't nearly as good as went I did research into the Potion of Treasure Finding last week. However I'm sure that's mainly due to doing this on my death knight that doesn't have tailoring as opposed to it actually being worse. Overall when you go for a full hour it's on par with farming Tol Barad with the other potion.

Boxes brought the final numbers up to:

86 gold (treasures/loot/trash)
Windwool Cloth x45
Black Trillium Ore x3
White Trillium Ore x4
Ghost Iron Ore x4
Exotic Leather x13
Motes of Harmony x12

It's highly suggested that you do this with a tailor for the extra cloth. If that's not an option however it's still extremely viable with any class that can kill mobs fast while withstanding the punishment.

Can anyone confirm that the droprate is lower since 25/10/2014?
This week with the introduction of the new patch, people started to frog farm like mad.
I farmed every day consuming 6 potions every day, giving me between 24 and 38 plundered treasure chests per pot.
Today 25/10/2014 I farmed again with 6 potions, I got between 8 and 14 plundered treasure chests per pot.
Today we had a better group actually with first 2 and then 3 moonkin, so we even had more loot.

I just tried using this on the Heart of Fear trash as a 706itemlvl protection warrior.

I used 3 potion of luck, to give you the info over 1 hour. Unfortunately at 52 minutes in I got the dreaded "You have entered too many instances recently.", so this is what I got from 52 minutes.

During the time I opened the treasure after each run and I also vendored all greens and epics I found.

I got:

1668g from drops and vendoring items.
138 motes of harmony
59 white trillium ore
66 black trillium ore
99 Ghost Iron Ore
74 Exotic Leather
98 Windwool Cloth

After making the ores into bars, I'd make 2829g on my auction house on Ravencrest-EU, alliance side.

Thoughts on the trash:
I made 3 pulls in the instance, gathering them up and mowing them down before moving on to the next one. However, I did die twice, because of stunlock from Shield Masters, so I prioritized those in my aoe rotation. They also hit very hard on me, and I'm plate. The small ones hit around 1k, with the big ones getting up to 4k. I also got crit for 16k sometimes.
So if you're a squishy class, I'm not sure this is the instance for you. If you're geared like a badass-mofo, you could definitely do this, although I'd recommend you try out Firelands trash instead, while using a Potion of Treasure Finding.

If you are looking for a way to craft the Potion de chance, you'll need 500 of alchemy skill to be able to craft.

Then you should make some potions with the Régénération de l’alchimiste, after a few potions you'll learn the potion of luck recipe automatically.

I bought something like 200 units of Feuille de thé vert and i got it when about half of the materials were used.

I had missed the info that these were becoming trash, so I was very grateful to find out so I could use the ones I had stockpiled before the patch. Reading the comments, however, I wasn't sure if people were running 10 or 25 HoF. Trying both, I got 42 chests in the 20 minutes from 25 and 55 from 10. As an ilevel 724 hunter, I was able to get three runs in 25 done in the 20 minutes versus 5 in 10 man. 10 man thus seems to be a bit more lucrative, though you're going to run into the instance limit quickly, so if you don't have something else to do for a while, 25 is probably a better choice, as there is quite a bit of rng as to how many chests drop.
