Awesome! Glad I've been saving my honor instead of spending it on the soon-to-be nonexistant gear. Always a season or 2 behind when you don't do arenas.
The real question is, will relentless be purchasable with triumph/frost emblems? Will wrathful be purchasable with any emblems? Guess we'll have to wait and see.
Wrathful Gladiator = Wrathful Gladiator's Sunderer = MOAR BLOODLUST
Something like -30% damage and healing debuff would kinda suck. There would be tons of crying about -50% healing debuff plus -30% healing debuff would be just horrid for some. Then again, it would be somewhat welcome. Healing is already too high without those mortal strike effects and some classes have way too much damage. I guess its balanced somewhat whatever they want to try. But -30% both isn't imo,
I would love to see the idea of -30% less damage buff in Arenas, as an enhance shaman it's impossible for me to do much of anything in arena's cos I'm always getting 1 shot.So I avoid arenas and don't get arena gear. It might be fun, but I don't know yet
@Iceleaf: It is balanced. You will see the samething in Cataclysm, but instead to have -30% dmg/heal people will have tons more hp, so it ends up the same. What Blizzard want to do it less 10-90-10-90-10 % hp roller-coaster. This is what the -30% dmg/heal achieve. People do less damage, so people die less fast, but to not make healing mega-overpowered, they have to reduce it by the same amount.
...Aw snap. I completely forgot it was so soon. I've saved up a lot of honor on my new shammy though. Insta-furious will be neat. The likely story will be relentless with frost emblems. I really wish I could pick up a set with triumph badges. But I know that's not happening. XP*Rushes off to spend arena points*
Toravon's model is...the regular ice giant model? Lame =/
Well the stats on this gear in this game could not be from planet playschool, that would certainly solve the problem without having an asinine assortment of debuffs.
MS could stack multiplicatively with the debuff, giving 65% reduction in healing. Seems fair IMO.
Why bother introducing new gear which increases damage/healing if your going to nerf it with a debuff? Just make the armour clases scale in a more ballanced way so plate/melee aren't so totally OP in comparison to clothies/leather wearers, and healers can't just heal through any amount of damage?
so will my current arena points be removed once the new season starts?

One extremely important factor that people are missing here (in regards to -30% damage across the board) is the fact that Melee will have a huge advantage over ranged classes with these changes. Why? Because while a ranged class will do -30% less damage while a melee class closes in on them, once within range, the melee damage/offensive utility will be far more devastating than what any ranged class did when they had range due to the fact that the whole dynamic is balanced around the fact that once melee is within range, they obviously have the upper hand. The fact that an MS might crit you for 4k instead of 5, or a rogue might do 30% less damage while you are in a stunlock does not balance out the fact that they closed in on you with 30% more health than they would have had but now have the clear advantage of being in melee range.I agree that level 80 PvP is way too "insta-gibby" and changes need to be made, but this is certainly not a wise one. It is merely a quick patch which I guarantee would cause major frustration from those who play ranged based classes.
in regards to efex. sure a melee class will have 30% more life and the ranged attacks will be 30% less...so will the melee attacks be 30% less so it will take more attacks to burst anything down...my personal opinion is that cc will be king as it should be. the fights will be longer and will favor a char that can properly use his or her cc to the best...in other words it will take more skill...damn blizzard for this...hint of sarcasm lol
