For the Crag-Jumping, I just hopped on a horse and literally ran up the spears. No jumping at all.Make sure you aren't phased on the quest "Let the Hunt Begin!" before you attempt this.
I think it made it easier because its like infinite lives in mario, who cares if you screw up just cast it and try again.
One of the reasons I quit the Wildstar beta was because "jumping puzzles" disgust me.If I want jumping puzzles, I'll play 8-bit computer games.
Nice to see the jumping puzzles in the game, always loved that about Gw2. Also nice to see the that Bashiok will get an NPC :)
I'd like to preface this by saying that I get every single vista and way point before leaving a zone in GW2, and I have all the treasures of Pandaria, and I got the Explorer title before you could fly in Azeroth. So exploration and jumping is right up my alley. I'm just not sure it's worth disabling flying. One of the worst things about GW2 is you frequently have to walk to your destination - either because it's not anywhere near a way point, or because you haven't discovered the way point yet. It's incredibly tedious, and I frequently get sick of it and hop back to WoW so I can move freely again. Given that WoW endgame is all about grinding on the same content, I'm really concerned about losing the ability to fly. It seems like a great way to make people burn out on content even faster than they do now. Either that, or the world has to be very small. Neither seems like a great option.Speaking of GW2, I hate to say it but this is clearly Blizzard ripping them off; platforming existed long before either game, but it's only after the success of GW2 and Wildstar that Blizzard is putting it into their own game. Even though players have been doing it for years, they're just now making it "a thing" in Draenor. The only way it could be more blatant would be if jumping puzzles are marked on the map with two red triangles.
Every1 complaining about jump puzzles saying it'll make the game difficult and annoying are mere inferiors and disgusting casual players that would quit WoW Classic/TBC within 3 weeks if they were throwned at these servers. But don't worry casuals, it won't take too much longer to blizzard allow you guys to fly on draenor, since they've lied about HP squish and you'll have arround ~350k HP at lv 100, not ~50k. Blizzard have made the HP squish misleading marketing to atract the true WoW players and this platform thing won't last much longer due to casual players... tsc tsc tsc
Don't worry the dev team will make sure goblin gliders can't be used for the jumping puzzles. Gotta make sure engineers can't have too much fun.
You do realize there has been jumpping puzzels and wc in game until cataclysm was released? when you couldnt fly in azeroth, there were so many places you could go by being clever, and it would reward you with secret areas and stuff like that.
Those character graphics look awesome! They even change their face expression while doing the emotes :D
Actually, the Crag Leaping puzzle isn't that hard... if you ignore the stupid spears, go up the cliff, get on your trusty mount and simply jump across the span. Worked like a charm. :)
