First! I think people like to QQ, to let their 'rage' go. People complain, because they might have no chance to a certain class/quest/mob at all. While at the same time, people QQ because they lost a duel. And I QQ about QQ.
First....dangit nevermind (hmm didn't realize this annoyed so many people, i thought the first thing was all in good fun)I think that wowhead is very good in general and so is wow but in wow i think that pvp has started to get in the way of PvE because certain classes become gimped when they become gimped in PvPPS wowhead needs PM system my only issuePPS maly im adding you to my wii friends list and SSB list so ill somehow tell you my code somehow
One thing that annoys me about WoW is Blizzard has a tendacy to not nerf a class to where it performs on an equal level, but instead nerf it to the ground and then not fix it for a long time. The same goes with buffing a class (on the rare occasions they do).
All these "first" comments in forums/blog posts etc;I mean, what is the point of them really?Wowhead is perfect imo, especially since it works so fine with Opera :PWoW-There are a lot of issues there but since MMORPGs are living and constantly changing, one think that bothers me now might be fixed tomorrow.
Hmm...What bugs me about WoW the most is that...well, the game is not I want it to be. Protection PvP is pretty poor, Death Knights seem to perform well in both PvE and PvP regardless of their chosen Talent tree; not to mention that they can choose to DPS or Tank in either tree. Of course, imbalance annoys me. My guild not doing what I need most annoys me. Wasted travel time, oh how it annoys me! Non-phased Dalaran, that's what annoys me.Now, I personally find Wowhead really well made. Probably the only issue I am having (and I have no knowledge about the other WoW Databases, so I can't compare) is the time it takes to implement a new feature. Granted, when that feature is implemented, it makes every rival website sweat a lot to catch up, but after a few months it is we that end up eating the dust. Until a new feature is released, at which point the cycle repeats. I know there are things out of our control, this is not a QQ, it's an opinion.
Wow this was the first blog post I have read.Cool stuff.I hate how mages qq on the official forums about our class we are so OP and if we (more so them) keep qqing we'll get nerfed hard core.second i hate f-ing profanity filters and rules about profanity sometime you just need to swear to vent and you can't...well thats my 2-cents
Like you said, people QQ because something was "good" or decent and then something else came along to "ruin" it. That being said, the new wowhead forums (wait... wowhead has forums? - I think that proves your point) have no effect on the database. I'll admit I enjoy the blog and the comics ( :D ) here, but they're only a (recent) bonus to my WoW database. Now, when the addition of something comes to hinder the quality of said product (I.E. adds) it can frustrate people. We live in the age of the internet and it just so happens that there are these lovely text boxes on many of the sites we visit. I'll be honest, I hate those stupid wowhead adds. I'll give you my opinion here, because I can and because I'm hoping someone will be able to change it. Same goes for the WoW forums. People QQ because they know someone's reading their QQ. All in all, it's a cry for attention, whether it has a founded reason behind or not.
I'm pretty sure you hit the nail on the head. If your class gets a major buff followed swiftly by a nerf you can expect that class's forum to be adrift with QQers. I've never seen somone QQ about something that has always sucked, like blink bugging off the terain. It's been doing that forever. People are so use to it bugging that they don't even seriously complain about it anymore.
QQ is the way the game improves. It is the user input that tells anyone who reads what they think would be a good/bad idea. People don't just QQ because they want to screw up the game for everyone or clog up the forums or to bug people. Rather, they do it because they want people to know their opinions.
Two words - Rogue Vanish :P
One thing that REALLY drives me up the wall is people who call "First!" on pretty much anything - Blue posts on the main forums, and increasingly on some of my favorite blogs - because they think that makes them better people or something. Maybe it's a personal thing, but I feel like people who do that should be banned... from life.On a much more WoW related note, one ability that really drives me up the wall is Fear-effects. I can handle being Stunned by a Paladin, or Charged by a Warrior, or Bashed by a Druid, or any of that other stuff, but the Warlock's ability to make me turn tail and run in a random direction makes me want to kick puppies. This isn't about nerfing warlocks or any normal QQ like that, it's all about my perception of my character. I've run screaming headlong into combat with enemies that would make even the mightiest leaders of the Horde and the Alliance think twice, from Ragnaros, Elemental Lord of Fire to Archimonde, leader of the assault on the World Tree, and any other number of other enemies that should define the meaning of fear - and yet for some reason any dude in a robe can waggle his fingers and act like he's the biggest, baddest thing I've ever seen. UGH! Fear effects drive me crazy.
Awesome! It's these kinds of posts I want on the forums, and that's why I QQ.
you know what REALLY gets under my skin and makes me REALLY want to QQ? Check out this quote taken from this very page:
"Well darling, it all began when Rogues were created...."
Personally I do not think there is something wrong with World of Warcraft. The game itself has evolved into something that is much better than the game was at release in February 2005.What bothers me, and makes me angry, is the change in peoples' attitude. I do not know from what that thinking happened to grow that e.g. some people deserve loot from raids, while others do not deserve it. Or that thing about pro-gamers and casual gamers. This is just plain silly. All that QQ'ing about a game that's meant for kids aged 12... Technically the game gives no reason to QQ, the gameplay has improved and I have no good memories about the "old" 40-men raids, they were a waste of resources, and bound to much playtime to the grinding thing. In the end I think that people just like to QQ. It does not have any relation to WoW or Wowhead, it's just human nature that sucks.
What bugs me is rolling a character on a pve server then having my game experience impacted by balancing pve with pvp.I understand lots of folks enjoy and want pvp and I am cool with that. Rock on if you want pvp, go nuts.I just think the vast majority of QQ would disappear if people had the option to have an entirely pve or pvp experience and pick the type of balance they wished to experience. For example, do I care if holy paladins are/were OP in arenas? No, it has zero impact on my gameplay experience up to the point that they make changes in the game due to pvp and apply them to the entire game world in the name of balance.
My only real complaint with WoW comes from PVP servers. The constant stream of being killed by people 50 lvs higher than you can get pretty annoying. Sometimes I really just think that they should bring the "Dishonor system" back. Basically, even your own faction NPCs attack you if you kill too many lowbies, and it'd stop a lot of gankers in their tracks (Unless they really didn't care much). But otherwise, I've no real complaints. Blizzard generally doesn't do anything to annoy me much.
Only time I ever go on the actual wow forums is when I get linked to a specific thread...and even then I usually end up laughing my ass of at all the whining.
It's like politics. You are bound to have some people who are opposed to certain changes in a bunch of 10 million. Some like things as they are, others like certain changes. The small minority who spend their time to post on forums will obviously cry about something if there is something they really want, or don't want in many cases. Some people like things as they are, some people want to see new content, some want a better UI, some want a harder game, some want to abolish "levels" completely, some want more guild functions, and so on. With only so much development resources we can't get everything at once, and some wishes directly contradicts one another.A lot of the QQ comes from the big changes that have been made to the game through the years. It has gone from an EQ-like MMO to a pleasing easy chatbox game. Of course, it's not as simple as that, but of course some of the older players who liked a grinding MMO will complain.
