That family must be cursed, their surname is Deadeye, and both the father and son have lost an eye. Jorin needs to change his surname, else he damns his children to the same fate.

According to either tides of darkness or through the dark portal (i just read them both back to back so im not sure which) kilrogg deadeyes name is not a surname is not deadeye he gave it to himself when he lost his eye in battle
