Note how while the body is heavily plated, the belly area is revealed. This armor is essential for the Belly Style, a special combat art whose origins are lost in time. The style revolved around taunting the enemy with an obvious weak point, and was composed of hundreds of various parries and dodges that were supposed to counter any possible attack lead at the belly area.

It was the most popular combat style on Azeroth until WoW got a T ESRB rating.

This set (aside from the helm and shoulders) uses the Black variant of the "A5 Plate" artwork set and forms four pieces of a seven-piece set of the art.

Sadly I can't find bracers or belt available in the game that use the same artwork and colour. If they existed they'd look like dark / purplish versions of Protège-bras de conquérant and Ceinturon de conquérant.

There's A5 Plate artwork for shoulders but the set ones sadly don't use it. I'm not aware of anything that does. The art for them is a similar blue-black and purple as the rest of the pieces.

There actually isn't any artwork for a helm. The set one uses unrelated artwork that Blizzard picked to complete the set, and doesn't really match very well at all. If you look you can probably find something better.

Note that the two listed breastplates use slightly different models. Armure hydralique has sleeves, Cuirasse ornée en mithril doesn't.

There are four other colour variants of this set in the database but only three of those seem to be available as sets in the game. Two are plate and one is mail. See:

Gold: Conqueror's Plate
Red: Bloodscale Plate
Copper: Brigade Mail (mail set not plate)
The missing colour is "Silver", which would be silver and wine red. There's one set of boots in mail which would give you an idea of the colouring: Bottes en acier poli

Currently, the plans for these items are unavailable in-game. You'll need to track down a blacksmith that learned them before the Cataclysm.

I was fortunate enough to have a guildie with the pattern and had him make this for me. I farmed like crazy to get Scepter of Sha'tar for my 2 handed mace (perfect match) and yes, it does indeed look like a guitar on your back. I use Saltstone Shoulder Pads instead, I just prefer the look. For the belt, since there is no really good match, I settled on Cobalt Belt because it matches close on color and it was something I could make (since I am a blacksmith). If I find something better, I will use it. I am using the Hydralick Armor.

If anybody's looking for some replacement parts for this set (especially a belt, better looking shoulders and maybe a more modest breastplate, if that kind of thing bothers you) I'd suggest taking some pieces from this set (Ornate Pyrium Battlegear). Stylistically, they're about as far apart as possible, but the colors are a pretty good match. RIght now I'm looking at a set with the ornate mithril gear + boots, belt, shoulders from onate pyrium, and it's not the worst looking thing in the world.

The Ornate Mithril set was available from the Mithril Order quests, a long and expensive quest chain from vanilla for blacksmiths.

Sadly it was removed in Cataclysm, so finding a crafter for this set can prove to be difficult. It's really easy to find crafters in the armoury, though not many people realise this.

Look up any old (but still active) guild from your realm on the armoury. In the roster, use the drop-down tab on the right side where you can view professions (it shows achievements by default). From there click on the each character and search within their recipes for 'ornate mithril'. It's tedious, but much more efficient than spamming trade! :)

Like many sets, the shoulders don't match and you can do much better. I use Espauliers de la Confrérie du thorium and it looks like it was made for this set. I didn't need to find a belt as I use Ceinturon de chevalier d'Achérus which transmogrifies as invisible. This is a revealing mog on females but not as cheeky as its sister set Bloodscale Plate.

I found, while looking through belts in my guilds blacksmith craft-ables, that Ceinture en trillium bénie is nearly a perfect match. I'd post a screenshot, but I don't have the set.
