Windwalker Monk Raid Tips & Tricks

Learn to use Transcendance and use it often. Plan ahead where you will be putting it and what you're going to use it for. Some bosses can be reset by using Transcendance to teleport out of the boss area after taunting the boss.

Use Toucher du karma defensively until you're comfortable enough with the fight to use it offensively.

Prepare and Practice

Single target encounter with some movement.

Use all the movement abilities that Windwalker has available to stay on the boss as much as possible.

Soak mechanics when needed.

Mythic Tips:

Same as lower difficulties, everything hits harder, so use defensive and movement abilities to stay alive and on target.

Talents:General Tips:

Mostly single target and some cleave at the beginning if you're raid is brave.

Mythic Tips:

Same as lower difficulties

Less opportunity to cleave

Use movement abilities to get to new target when you switch

Talents:General Tips:

Don't hit bombs

Use defensives if stacks get too high

Understand what to do in the pods if needed

For max add damage, avoid using SEF on 3rd pod.

Mythic Tips:

Same as lower difficulties

Talents:General Tips:

Convince raid leaders that you shouldn't be in portals

Use Ring of Peace to interrupt and knock adds closer

If in portals, lament your luck, and interrupt when needed

Adds are highest priority, interrupt and kill ASAP.

Focus on the mechanics

Follow your group assignments

Don't get distracted by the many AOE targets

Use Ring of Peace to prevent adds from moving farther down the path

Really, don't get distracted by the AOE targets, focus on your job.

Talents:General Tips:

Straightforward single target fight

Use all the mobility that a Windwalker has to stay out of things

Don't move more than you need to. Just because you can get down the bridge faster than everyone, doesn't mean you should

Touch of Karma can be case as Imonar flies away to absorb/redirect some damage

Use Soif du tigreTiger's Lust on slower players

Be aware that when you Roulade, your character is considered at your original position until the Roulade is over. This is important to avoid putting others to sleep

Mythic Tips:

Seriously, stay with your groups on bridge

Talents:General Tips:

Get excited, this fight was made for Windwalkers

Don't use Toucher mortel on the pull

Save all cooldowns so that they're available for when adds spawn

Pop everything on the adds, use ample movement abilities to get to and from them ASAP

Mythic Tips:

Don't hit the orbs.

Talents:General Tips:

Take Roll off your bars

Use Toucher du karma to help healers if you get healing debuff

Mythic Tips:

Move with your group, ignore all movement abilities

Save Frappe du seigneur des Vents and Frappe du voile noir ! for add spawns

Talents:General Tips:

Lament being a melee

Be careful using Toucher du karma and taking extra damage, can go from 100 to dead very quickly

Anneau de paix can be used to knock back Norgannon adds

Mythic Tips:

Lament being a melee even more

Use Toucher du karma to help soak cleave

Make sure Tempête, Terre et Feu spirits aren't attacking targets they're not supposed to

Anneau de paix can be used to knock small adds away or toward the boss

Adds can be CC'd with Paralysie

Transcendance can be used to get in and out of fire quickly

Mythic Tips:

Not much different from Heroic, just do everything better

Talents:General Tips:

Aim to get the Crit/Mastery buff

Target the add with the Physical damage increase with Toucher mortel and other abilities

Eclair de jade crépitant, Onde de chi, Toucher du karma can be used for bonus damage on the Nature add

Tempête, Terre et Feu resets on death entering the last phase

Use all the movement abilities that Windwalker has available to stay on the boss as much as possible.

Same as lower difficulties, everything hits harder, so use defensive and movement abilities to stay alive and on target.

Talents:General Tips:

Mostly single target and some cleave.

Watch your Torment bar so you can plan your cooldowns around needing to go into the latern.

Don't put Toucher du karma on a target that will become unattackable before its over, you will get Torment from Toucher du karma tick damage.

Beg your tanks to bring them back together when both are attackable.

Mythic Tips:

Be careful of adds about to die, they will explode.

Talents:General Tips:

If adds stay alive for awhile, stack up Marque de la grue, if not then try to hit as many as you can with Poings de fureur.

Toucher du karma should be used to help soak the cleave damage.

If adds are dying very quickly, don't get stuck trying to "pad" on them and miss out on damage by doing it.

Mythic Tips:

Save cooldowns for after the eggs get hit and take increased damage.

If you're lucky enough to be able to DPS the many adds that spawn from eggs, then do so. If you're not, then its essentially a single target boss.

Talents:General Tips:

Pay attention to when you're standing in the puddles dropped by the Eels dying, don't waste big damage abilities while standing here only to see them miss.

Windwalkers have lots of movement abilities to deal with the variety of mechanics, use them all.

Mythic Tips:

Focus on the mechanics

Don't scumbag on the adds if its not your job. Eels are about dying at the right time, not as quickly as possible.

Talents:General Tips:

Have cooldowns available for Moontalon spawns. Otherwise a single target boss

Use all the movement abilities in the kit to stay alive and stay on boss.

Mythic Tips:

Use Prydaz, chef-d'œuvre de Xavaric, thank me later.

Talents:General Tips:

Mostly a single target/cleave encounter.

Ask to "go down" into the spirit realm.

Help interrupt when the Priestesses can be interrupt.

Watch your cleave when Priestesses are needed to stay alive.

Don't waste resources on AOE when adds have Bone Shield.

Mythic Tips:

Almost entirely a single target fight with some cleave.

Take advantage of cleave and AOE situations to pump up your numbers.

Talents:General Tips:

Don't get greedy with orbs. If you can't do it perfectly, don't do it at all.

Know your color!!

Mythic Tips:

Seriously, don't be greedy.

No really, know your color.

Talents:General Tips:

Don't touch the Maiden unless the shield is up.

Use all the movement abilities and defensives to stay alive and avoid mechanics.

Mythic Tips:

Avoid taking damage.

Talents:General Tips:

Mostly single target with some priority adds.

Transcendance is your best friend from the knockbacks and to get back to Illidan during the Darkness phase.

Keep up Combinaison de coups during the intermediate phases when KJ isn't attackable, but not at the cost of taking unneeded damage.

When he starts to fly up, he takes reduced damage. Use this as a chance to generate resources to use when he returns to ground.
