would be kinda fun to have a realm first achieve on a lvl 5 toon >:)

I just got this achievement as a level 33 druid on Dentarg EU.
After 1h 45 minutes of fishing in Stormwind!

I got this achievment, , on my lvl 85 druid on realm Trollbane EU.
Took a look at the screenshot now, the morning after MoP-release, and it is time-stamped 01:22.
Conclusion is that it only took me 1 hour 22 minutes!

(I also got the achievment a couple of hours later )

Anyone who knews if there is an official list of players who managed to take any of the RealmFirst Achievments ?

Got it on US-Ysera in one hour, eighteen minutes

The first trick for this one (and potentially useful advice for the next expansion) for me was to save the +2 Fishing Skill daily from Darnassus until the last two points (598) rather than the first two, as fishing has a lower chance to skill-up the higher you get.

The second trick for this one (definitely useful for next expansion) is to turn off auto-loot, and press the keybind for fishing the instant after you right click your bobber. The loot window will appear as you're waiting on your next cast bar, and you can casually close it with your mouse.

Good luck on next expansion, and for those that haven't finished this one yet :)

Got this on my druid on Alterac Mountains - US. Took 401 catches over 1 hour, 43 minutes, and 6 seconds. The skillups seem very random, some take ~12 catches and other times you'll get a streak of 3-4 points at 1-3 catches each, which seems odd if it were just some kind of spillover effect.

Weird...my char and other got the fos at the same time...anyone experiencing this before? Btw, we are on Scilla.. Now in this realm, we have "2" realm first fishing!

US-Draka 415 casts, was at 399, mid cast it popped for someone else, and lucky for me that cast was my skill up and I also got the achieve. Back to back for me, I got it in Cata and just narrowly missed it (by 2 mins due to server loading issues) in wrath. Goes well with my now 3 in one salty titles, and back to back wins in BB contest to get said titles.

Rather than leveling I went for this last night.

The randomiser is hilarious. I upskilled the instant MoP became active. I was at the fishing training in Orgrimmar and so was casting about 20 seconds after we went live. Which was about 0256 EDT.

There was someone else near me and we were having a friendly chit chat as we tried to get this. However someone else did get it, wholly 15 minutes before either of us did. It took me roughly 2hrs, and the other fellow slightly quicker on 1hr 57 or so. We were pegging each other until the end. I guess it comes down to the roll and you can get lucky. We were both casting within a few seconds of each other and both were nowhere close.

Got realm first on my Alliance Priest Zangarmarsh - US. Took 1 hour and 35 minutes. Best way to go about it is have your daily ready to turn in (Wait until 598ilvl). I panicked and turned it in, right from the get go, thankfully it wasn't a deciding factor for Realm First. Also don't auto loot and you don't need to bring the fish in your bags to level, right when you reel it in, cast again ASAP! Lastly, don't drink a bunch of caffeine or drinks ( Had to take the quickest bio in the midst of getting realm first!) No Breaks and don't get distracted on forgetting to click on the bauble. If you didn't get realm first, hopefully this will be helpful for the next expansion! Good luck out there and Congrats to all the realm firsts!

Got it on my shaman Fattigue - Stormrage US. Got it within 1 hour and 22 mintues of MoP realease. The stormwind daily was the one that gave + 1 fishing so I went to Darnassus daily because it gave + 2 fishing. It was actually a good spot too because there wasn't really that much lag. I started fishing right away then when I got to 598 I handed in the fishing daily.

Got the Zen Angling first for Moonrunner last night (Sluggs, warrior) and thought I'd share a few things:

- My server went live about 3 minutes early, so I was fishing by 11:59. I chose the cliffside behind the Alliance camp in Tol Barad, where I figured I'd have zero interruptions and I'd get some fish I could still cook into something useful. It worked perfectly.

- My splits: at 12:30 I was at 548; at 1AM I was at 569; and at 1:30 I was at 591. Although I was getting skillups anywhere between 2 and 14 casts, I was getting roughly 22 skillups every half hour.

- I have no idea if it helped (I assume not), but I fished with about +200 of buffs: the +40 pole, the +150 lure, the hat, rum, etc.

- Like many others, I'd banked a +2 fishing daily, so at 1:35, I ported to SW to turn that in and fish up my final skillup. I hit 600 and got the RF at 1:39AM, exactly 100 minutes after I started. Woot!

I don't expect it made a difference, but I had my Weather-Beaten Fishing Hat and my Mastercraft Kalu'ak Fishing Pole equipped. The server went live about 6 minutes early, so I actually didn't get an immediate start, but obviously quick enough.
