Got this about 30 minutes after the MoP launch for battling then trapping a Stormwind Rat. Does not seem especially rare to me but who knows how its being judged.

This achievement seems bugged. As a pandaren monk the achievement does not pop up, even after catching several uncommon pets, not even after relogging, or summoning the pet.

EDIT: after a few relogging, it finally gave credit

Ok there seems to be a misconception here. The 'Rare' or 'Uncommon' doesn't apply to the scarcity of the pet, it applies to the quality if the pet. Each pet found in the wild may have exceptional scores,(hit points, speed, etc) or low scores. I just fought two Cafard's, the first was Uncommon, the second was rare.

as a NE monk, i have yet to get this, maybe it has to do with the monk class in general but i cant get any achievements, not even the train to lvl 3, i went on my 85 pally and got it no problem...hope thy fix this

I hope this achievement is no longer bugged for those still trying to achieve it! If it is then I recommend a GM ticket!
I recommend adding an AddOn if you want to easily check in pet battles if they are Uncommon or Rare in Quality!
