anybody knows if the layer matters? like if it increases or decreases the drop chance? just finished my tenth run of thorgast as resto cat and i just cant get the stupid thing doing layer 3

Does anyone know if you have to be in the resto spec to have this drop. I just did the 3rd layer in balance and it didn't drop, I know that it is just a chance to drop on the layer but I want to make sure I'm not wasting my time trying to farm this in the wrong spec. I have my loot table set to resto.

Dropped for me in Torghast, Fractured Chambers, Layer 3 from the last boss (in floor 6) which is a Slime kind of creature.
According to Icy Veins this is best legendary for raiding but the worst for dungeons. I'm a casual player so I might never get any of the others so I'm going to use this.

It also dropped from twisting corridors layer 3 floor 13....One of the bosses RNG spawned from fractured chambers I believe.

Pro tip: don't be like me and run each layer of Fracture Chambers attempting to get this thing to drop prior to unlocking the Runecarver. MEMORIES WILL NOT DROP UNTIL YOU UNLOCK THE RUNECARVER! Once I realized I had yet to do that (hey, I rescued Baine, I'm already in Torghast, I figured why not go get the memory while I'm here, right?) I ran back to Oribos, did all the skips, unlocked Runecarver, and the memory dropped on Layer 3 first try. Oops...
