How do you even get one of these ? I got one from a Thomas Bright quest but haven't seen any since then. Having the 4 hour cd on alchemy experimentation is awful.

These can be obtained as a bonus craft when doing potion or phial experiments. They reset the cooldown of your backfire to allow you to keep experimenting.

4 hour lockout is a bit excessive imho. Particularly when you explode FOUR TIMES IN A ROW.

Edit: I'm now at 12 explosions out of 13 attempts - that's 9 explosions in a row.

So I'm at 6 explosions out of 7 attempted crafts.

Is anyone else experiencing this sort of crazy ratio? It feels pretty terrible.

I'm at more or less 50% failure on experiments its such a stupid mechanic. Thousands of gold of wasted mats and I can't even progress my profession. Meanwhile other ppl are already at 100 just because RNG.

Blizz truly has found a way to make people quit their professions and become gold gatherers. cause having a 4 hrs cooldown is insane. Even getting a liquid courage potion to continue is extremely hard. then blowing up again as soon as you use it is beyond stressful. I have blown up so much that I am ready to give up alchemy all together and train in mIning so that I do not have to deal with it. then just sell the herbs and ore on AH. I know professions are optional. but can someone explain to me how blowing up day after day and unable to progress your professions is a good thing? even when using high-quality quality mats you still blow up. so what is the use of this? just venting. sorry. just have reached broken spirit phase.

You will randomly receive one of these when you craft either Phial or Potion Experimentation. They are not very common. They will reset your 4 hour cooldown on trying another Phial or Potion experimentation following your alchemy table exploding.

On the subject of your alchemy table exploding. I believe it is linked to your alchemy level and the knowledge you have. My Alchemy table explodes pretty much first attempt at the moment but I am level 97 now...

It certainly feels knowledge orientated so focus on gaining knowledge and don't stress about it so much.

If you are one of those dragonflight alchemy enjoyers on a dangerously low sanity level, this will help you trough the day. Great thing to consume between two boom-boom session. It's highly addictive, but I would drink it again anyway.
10/10 beverage!

HOW is this NOT a crafted item... just HOW, with as frequently we keep exploding multiple times IN A ROW.

also, has ANYONE ELSE gotten a BLEED on them, for having exploded multiple times? or is my bad luck just "special" like that? >:(

Been an Alchemist since TBC, but yeah... Dropped it today. I've literally gone "boom" 3 times in a row. And, seeing as I can't get a "liquid courage" any other way (not that I've seen more than one all expansion), it's just not worth the time and effort.

Herb/mining for me. I'll buy the potions I need. LOL

Very tired of blowing up sometimes on the first combine of the day, just walk away can't get any headway. I can't get liquid courage if I can't make combines

If you are a priest, Power Word: Shield is a lifesaver - literally. Since I started casting it before every experiment, I have "only" dropped to 3% health, pfft. I agree, ridiculous to make a profession do this.

I came here to find out what this "liquid courage" thing was that I got while experimenting and doing first crafts...

...now I'm afraid to craft again. ;)

It's weird, I flew to Valdrakken specifically so I could use the table, my skill lvl was 25 and I had a variety of lvl 1 and 2 mats.

did at least 8 (maybe more, I wasn't paying attention) experiments, learned two new Phial recipes and end up with 15 assorted Phials.

no explosions. (I didn't even realize there was a chance to explode until I read this thread).
I hope blizzard nerfs this, I can't see this being anyone's idea of "entertainment".

Have explosions been nerfed? I'm at 48 skill, I've done probably 10 or 12 experiments and never exploded. I only knew about it because I crafted this item and looked it up to know what it does.

ive maxed out my alchemy skill, and still get blown up every 3-4 crafts. and its such a waste of time its not worth attempting to go back and finish when the cooldown is up, ive jsut lost a whoel days forth of attempts.. in crafting from 0-100, i received a total of 4 of these potions. and havent received a single one since reaching skill 60 in my craft. who in their right mind thought this would be a good feature. it was unique and interesting while leveling up , and mildly funny. but at some point this feature shou8ld end. maybe when youve completely maxed out your skill, but cant make anything on the marketplace or crafting orders because you keep exploding instead of learning new recipes!

So I am asking - why should I bother with this for all the time and hassle? Should we just trash this item? I used it once and exploded, fine, but with all the stories of failure and nothing telling what the real advantage is to keep trying to use it. Seems I can level my alchemy just fine with out it...

A failed experiment locks out both Phial and Potion O.o
Would be great if someone could craft them (maybe an alchemist cause you know being a potion/concoction for Alchemists.....) and increase the drop rate and/or amount for these cause at the moment it's more painful than watching paint dry...

While I do get everyone complaining, this system is no different than previous "learning lockout" system such as the draenor one to give you a chance to discover new recipes. In fact, this one actually gives you more of a chance since there's not an automatic lockout but you keep going until you fail, and you get something back.

Its the idea that you COULD keep going if you were lucky that gets people so rankled. They actually gave you bonus effects to the old system and a chance to occasionally reset the cooldown through this item, but because it involves a negative it makes people think they've "failed" a system that was designed to be won, when really it was an rng discovery system from the very start.

Fascinating little human psychology experiement.

What is the proc rate on this? I've done dozens of experiments without receiving one. Insane that this is neither craftable nor tradable.

This blowing up and hardly ever getting these liquid courage potions reminds me of Eve Online training when you clicked a skill and it took weeks to finish. In fact, Eve was faster. I'm dropping Alchemy and just buying all the potions I need since I can accumulate gold a lot faster than trying to level this crap profession.
