podcast interviewed Morgan Day about the Dragonflight alpha!
Here's a quick summary of our highlights, but make sure to watch the full interview for the full context.
Talent Trees
An initial goal for the new talent system is to add build diversity. They're excited to see what people come up with once they start running sims and working on their builds.
Raid & Party Buffs
At this stage in the alpha, they're wanting to see how far they can go with raid and party buffs before they hit a line and have to scale it back.
Master Loot
Master Loot is very much being discussed and considered. For something as social as raiding, having loot distribution also be social feels like something that makes sense. They're interested in keeping it an open discussion with the community during the development of Dragonflight.
No More AP Grind
As we already know, Dragonflight will have no AP grind at end-game. Instead, they hope to focus on really building on and refurbishing core foundational systems. They especially want Professions to be max-level activities that can hold up against things like Mythic+, PVP and Raiding.
Mega Dungeon
They like mega-dungeons as a great opportunity to explore story that isn't necessarily the main storyline. They are considering some tweaks to the itemization of mega-dungeons to try make sure they're appealing for a little longer than they currently tend to be.
Acquiring Gear in Dragonflight
Overall happy with the creation catalyst both for alt catch-up and bad luck protection. Think they could have improved timing - would have put it on sooner. Hope to continue to explore more deterministic ways to obtain your goals with gearing. With PVP gear, they're considering having the PVP item level pegged at the highest for any tier, while the PVE item level will be upgradeable.
