Paladin
Hammer of Wrath Damage
Hammer of Wrath damage has been nerfed by 50% on the 4.0.6 PTR.
This is actually a bug. A very non-excessive, non-stealthy bug. There was small coding change in the latest PTR build that caused Hammer of Wrath, a ranged ability, to use ranged attack power instead of melee attack power. The change itself was completely unintended and has since been corrected.
That said, we're still watching paladin damage (both sustained and burst), and if we feel that further adjustments need to be made, Hammer of Wrath may actually be a good candidate.
Er, are you saying that paladin burst or sustained might be in line for nerfs? I know you said "adjustments", but Hammer of Wrath certainly doesn't need any buffs...
"Nerf" is such a dirty word sometimes, but yes, that's indeed what I meant. There's no changes planned right now, but Hammer of Wrath does hit for a lot and would be an ability we'd likely look at changing if we felt that paladin damage was too strong.
Is the new Mastery we have suppose to be affected by inquisition or not? Been wondering that since it was announced.
It is. There was a bug that was preventing this from occurring, though, but it should be resolved in the next PTR build. :)
Prêtre
Circle of Healing Range
Circle of Healing now has a 10 yards radius, down from 18 yards.
This information is actually incorrect. In addition to Circle of Healing receiving a 30% healing buff, its radius (around the target) is also being increased from 15 yards to 30 yards in patch 4.0.6. If this change isn't already live on the PTR, it should be soon, so you and fellow priests will be able to test out new positioning and see how it feels.
Chevalier de la mort
Scourge Strike Not Being Affected by Dreadblade
The upcoming reworked mastery for Unholy Death knights ( Dreadblade/shadow damage ) is not currently buffing the 2nd half portion of Scourge strike, which deals shadow damage. Previous posts about how Scourge strike should work insists that it indeed should benefit from such factors. I'm hoping this is just a bug because now that Dual Wield Unholy is no longer viable ( which was the main culprit behind unholy dps meter padding ) 2handed unholy pve dps would not be in a good position if dreadblade was intended to not work with Scourge strike.
The Shadow portion of Scourge Strike is intended to be affected by Dreadblade (this was part of the intent behind changing Unholy mastery); however, there's a bug on the PTR right now that's preventing this from happening correctly. It should be resolved soon, or may already be resolved in the next PTR build.
Archaeology Additions
Blizzard have stated that they possibly intend to expand upon archeaology a lot more in the future. so fingers crossed we will eventually get something.
Absolutely. There's much greater scope for us to add more cool stuff to the Archaeology secondary profession than there is for say First Aid, for example.
