This week's GG WoW video looks at the Mythic Plus returning dungeons in Season 4 and the implications for Dragonflight Mythic+!
Dratnos and Tettles start off by looking at the addition of Karazhan, Mechagon, Iron Docks, and Grimrail Depot to M+ - for them it's definitely generated excitement and freshness, but is the tuning between these dungeons of different eras too far off? We've already seen some nerfs to
Lower
, but it remains true that the sentiment among many casual keystone players is that Karazhan is way harder than Mechagon or Tazavesh, with Grimrail Depot also attracting complaints. This appears to hold true among higher-end keystone pushers who are currently beating Tazavesh and Mechagon keys at +27 while Lower Kara's best is a +24 and Upper's sits at +22. This disparity is definitely large, and Dratnos and Tettles agree it probably indicates something to look into, but caution that it is very early in the season and there's a lot of optimization and learning that can happen. However, later in the week, we saw
more nerfs
.
In Dragonflight, we know that Season 1 Mythic Plus will involve four of the eight Dragonflight dungeons, plus
Court of Stars and Temple of the Jade Serpent
, along with another Legion dungeon plus one from Warlords of Draenor. Dratnos and Tettles discuss these choices and go over some potential picks for the unannounced returning dungeons, like Eye of Azshara, Maw of Souls, Everbloom, and Auchindoun.
Finally, the video covers the different texture of loot in Shadowlands Season 4 now that we have 4 expansions of loot philosophy coexisting at once. Strange items like the Warlords of Draenor primary stat jewelry plus so many powerful and iconic items like
Bandelettes hyperconductrices
and
Voile de honte
are all available this season, but most excitingly every single dungeon has interesting and powerful items, which feels like a departure from Shadowlands where dungeons tended to have a trinket or two at best that were good. Whether or not these dungeons have more interesting loot pools than Shadowlands dungeons, it certainly feels that way due to the freshness of the rotation, which is another hopeful sign for Dragonflight Mythic Plus!
What do you think about rotating Mythic Plus dungeons? Are you worried about being overwhelmed by new mechanics more frequently, or are you excited to dive in to fresh content? Are there dungeons or items you're hoping to see return from the past? How have you been feeling about the Season 4 selection and do you think nerfs should or will be coming soon to more mechanics in dungeons like Karazhan and Grimrail Depot? Let us know down in the comments!
