Stinglasher is the named Silithid Bug of the Hive, however he frequently wanders outdoors where you can pull him solo quite easily.

He will stack Venom Sting on you, for 11-12 poison damage per 5 seconds a cast. He can Lash, like raptor taillashers do, which sometimes cause you to drop weapon for 5 seconds, in addition to a brief stun. Pretty entertaining as a matter of fight.

You should be able to solo him if you are at least lvl 43, He does a poison that can stack up to 5 times doing 12 dammage per 5 seconds each application.

He hopped up on me right after I had entered the cave and killed a tunneler, although I was surprised I had no problem as a frost mage :), There's also a rarespawn Qirot who you might want to look for at the same time.

just soloed him on my Horde Pally w/o realizing he was in the group of 4 I pulled, got ganked by a Warlock in the progress killed him and went back to killing the pull.

Don't waste your time looking for him inside the chambers...
He can be found outside patrolling the way. He also patrols in the 3 rooms but spends most of his time outside.

Stinglasher has a rather noticeable green aura around him that other nearby silithid do not have, so that'll help you spot him.

soloed with resto shaman lv 46 with half HP nothing of a problem ^^ just use your poison cure skill or potion it comes in handy

He eluded me 2 times, but when i finally found him i was caught outside stealth, but i got saved by cheat death in the end. No vanish reagents, not that it helps but...Sub rogue <3 :P

Seriously, just make a /target Stinglasher macro for it. Don't waste your time searching for him in the chambers. He rarely goes down there and when he does it's only for a few moments. If you really have your heart set on finding him in the chambers, then at least only focus your time on the chamber on the right. That's the main chamber he patrols.

Just make the macro though. I wasted a lot of time searching for him. Then I made the macro and found him just seconds after it was complete.

Much more efficient.

Found him right at the front of the area. Killed him easily as a level 43 lock.

I spent ages trying to find the thing, but couldn't find it. The way I ultimately did find it was by way of a small hill inbetween the two hives. I just stood on the for a few seconds overlooking the area and spotted him almost immediately.

I don't really know how this could be a difficult battle if you know your class. Solo'd as a lvl 46 Retribution pally (http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=26016 really helps) and I only needed to cleanse once.

I realize this has already been said, but if you make a simple macro:

you can just mount up and ride around looking for him, as he does patrol a bit.

If you find him dead, dont worry he has a spawn time of ~3 minutes. He spawns in at the middle of the main level of the hive. Just kill trash mobs there and wait.

Funniest story... I 'park' my Shammy on the slope down to the Hive, and look Stinglasher up, here at Wowhead. After analyzing this page of comments, I decide to Alt+Tab back in the game.

I found him near the eastern hive, but when i tried to kill him, he tried to escape back into the hive. This thing repeated itself until i attacked him near another mob. He then started fighting.

Looks like the best strategy to find him is to sit somewhere in the area and alt+tab over here to look him up.

I got the quest, went to the hives, and put myself a fair distance away from anything, went to Wowhead to look this boy up - and guess who decided to pay me a visit while I did?

The option "sound in background" has certainely saved my ass a few times. Much like others before me i got attacked by him while reading here.

After hearing combat noises i tab back in and kill him.

Stinglasher used no poison on me nor my pet. It's a level 47 with about 3K hp. Easy to solo ;)

He is huge. He is probably twice the size as my human hunter. Anyway, it seems he is quest marked, and I got him at level 39. Just before getting him though, as I was looking around I managed to spot Qirot just outside the entrance and tamed him. Then I looked at the red dots that I was tracking and saw stings name.

He was on the sides, coming around to the middle so I just waited and tamed him when he came close enough. :) Awesome, but the size is a bit intimidating.

Just to add--I spent forever looking through the labyrinth type cave before I came here to look up quest...went back to game, wandered out of cave and there he was. Chances are-he is not in the cave.

OMG today has been such an awesome day for finding rare pets for my hunter. Found Stinglasher at 76.4, 61.3. I was alt tabbed and when came back he was comming out the tunnel right towards me. previously today i have also tamed Harakiss, Ainamiss, Qirot, Oozeworm and The Razza :D

After typing this, went back into wow and saw him spawned again at 75.7, 60.9 going towards the tunnel. So he does spwn often AND wanders inside.

I went into the cave thing, thinking, Yea, they always put the badguy in the cave if there is one, came here after I couldnt find him forever and on my way out, I saw the little skull on my mimimap and he was flying around the cave
This quest grossed me out..It's not just giant bugs that creep me out, since my pet is a giant moth, its the giant ugly bugs..ew
And nice the carapeace drop rate was 100%, got alot of other random stuff to vendor from them, also

Mob for Fouet-cuisant Spawns in random point of Writhing Deep. So if you cant find it inside painted quest zone, you should run across Deep watching minimap.

So, I spent 30 minutes looking for Stinklasher. I came to the comments to see what everybody said and I noticed some mentioned him spawning at the entrance of the West cave. I ran back to it, and that's where I found him at; coming up the ramp. 73, 63 is the cords.
