New Feature: Personalized Searches
You guys are going to love this:
you can now display search results based on whether or not your character has completed them!
Here's how it's done:
Upload character data using the
Wowhead Client
.
This won't work unless you have quest data uploaded for the character you want to use!
Go to the character you want to use as your main.
Once your data is upload, the character should appear on your
user page
, or in the dropdown user menu at the top right.* I'm using
Malgayne
as an example.
Click the button.
Now go browse through a category we show completion data for—
quest listings
are one good example.
There should be a new section at the bottom of the filters, labelled
Completion
.
Now, just click "Available" or "Unavailable" to only show quests that are available (or unavailable) to your pinned character!
The real power of this comes when you view a list of quests for a zone, then you filter for ones that are 'available' and for your faction. This will give y

Level Selector In Talent Calc
Just another little awesome bonus feature—you can now
select your level
in the talent calculator!
Just click on the level listed at the top of the talent calculator, and a dialog box will pop up asking you what level you'd like. Once you select a level, the talent calculator will be constrained to only the number of talent points that level character has available.

Wowhead User Survey—Win an Xbox/PS3/Wii
So one of the most common complaints we get—or any website gets, for that matter—is about the ads. We don't like it when annoying, obnoxious, irrelevant ads are showing our pages. We don't like "Shoot the Duck" any more than you do.
We want you to be seeing ads for products you actually care about: awesome games, movies, computer equipment, and so on. We have a pretty good idea what sort of ads you want to see. But in order to get those ads up on the site, we need to prove it!
In light of this fact, we've put this little survey together! It asks a bunch of questions about what games you like to play, what movies you like to watch, what sort of gear you like to buy, and so on—so we can prove to our advertisers that our audience knows their gear. Cataclysm Heroic Raid Testing + New Premades Available
Blizzard has issued a call to arms for feedback of the Heroic difficulty modes of the upcoming Cataclysm raids, now testable on the Cataclysm Beta servers. Threads have been made on the official forums requesting feedback for each of the new encounters. Cataclysm Beta Testers can access these threads and offer valuable feedback

To make this testing a little easier, Blizzard has made available new premade template characters, decked out in
item level 359
gear (including full sets of
Tier 11
). Each account should have 5 new premades available.
There are new premade 359 templates available, but feel free to try with the 346 templates and whatever epics you might of gained from previous raid testing if you wish.

in fact work on the Cataclysm Beta realms and implore you guys to run the

Cataclysm Beta (Build 13241) Latest Additions & Spell Changes
A new build is on the way for the beta servers, with a bunch of new changes! We've done a full diff of all the spell changes below, we'll be cleaning it up and making it readable as we go.
Edit: Looks like there are some issues with our (and everyone's) spell parsing. Blizzard is changing these values so that they scale up from level 1 to level 79. Our parse is showing the lowest values, rather than the scaling, so it looks like a nerf—but ACTUAL VALUES AT LEVEL 80-85 ARE UNCHANGED. Zarhym's blue post is below:

Most of these abilities have not changed for level 80+, however, they've been changed to scale from 1-79. As an example, Ambush deals a flat 190% weapon damage on live realms. With these changes, it now deals 90% weapon damage when first learned, and increases up to 190% again by the time you hit level 80.

costs to tooltips in item searches!
Now when you search for items that cost Justice Points, you'll be shown not only the number of Justice Points the item costs, but also the number of boss kills it will take to earn that many points! Just mouse over the number to see our calculations.

Day of the Dead 2010 Quest Guide + Information!
The
Day of the Dead
event has begun yet again in the World of Warcraft! This holiday remains
unchanged
from 2009, so veteran players will find that there's nothing to do. It's also worth mentioning that the single quest available in the event doesn't seem to have reset from last year, so there's
really
no reason to participate. Newer players, however, should definitely head over to the nearest major city graveyard and get their achievement ASAP, as the event only lasts one day!
This event is a memorial holiday in which we celebrate the honor and memory of those who have passed on. They make a spiritual return to our lands, which we prepare with food and festivities, for only two days:

minor
in-game event, similar to
Pirate's Day
or the
Harvest Festival
, but it's pretty interesting regardless!

Cataclysm Beta Patch 13221 Spell Changes & Latest Additions
A new patch (13221) is imminent for the beta servers, and we've got details on what you can expect in this latest patch for the Cataclysm beta!
We'll be updating this post with more information as we distill it from the batch of data, so stay tuned!
Highlights
157 new items
found, most of which are epic top-level items from raids.
All spells that reduce the effectiveness of healing to a target (such as
Frappe mortelle
) have been modified to reduce such effectiveness by 10% rather than 25%.
All resistance-based racial abilities now increasing your spell resistance of that school by one point (scaling) rather than reducing the chance you will be hit by a spell from that school by 2%.

Talent Calculator "Use In-Game" Button
You can now use our
Talent Calculator
to apply your talents directly into the game!
All you have to do is click the
Use in-game!
button on the right side of the talent calc. A dialog box will pop up with a
/script
command in it. All you have to do is copy the script, switch to WoW, open up a chat box, paste it in and hit enter—the talent pane in game will automatically preview the talents you chose on our site!
Notes
Don't forget that you have to hit the "Learn" button in order to actually use the talents—our script just loads a preview!
This only works on characters who are currently untalented. If you have some of your talents spent already, the script gets confused.

Cataclysm Beta: New Data!
We've pushed another amazing update to the Cataclysm site in the form of more user-collected data. If you head over to our
Latest Additions
page you will find out that we have added
163 new items
, most of which seem to be heroic dungeon gear!
You'll find many awesome items you'll be able to gather at level 85, such as
Anneau fêle-crâne
(which will be awesome for any rogue or feral druid). There are even some new quests and NPCs in this update.
