There is another
already that discusses Pet Battles; however, it does not list each companion from the Pet Journal so I do feel this guide is acceptable.
That being said, I'd recommend changing the currently clever title to something more obvious so people know what it is easily rather than trying to scratch their heads on the wording here. I do like it though, and think you should definitely leave it at the top of your guide... but I think the subject should be more obvious for the other users here.
Also, I edited your guide to add the \ tag allowing your Wowhead links to work correctly here.
Thank you for creating this wonderful guide and good luck with the additions/updates throughout MoP!
"Good guide has you made here young MoP Pet Master"
Still smells liks Pkmn but wtf! i like it, more content to squeeze the juice and in the other hand i have now WoW and Pkmn in one game, i can rush to dungeons and in the idle time battle some critters.
My best regards. +20 "Keep going"
Awesome! I especially love the Effectiveness table, it's much fancier than mine. Mind if I link your guide in
, giving all the proper credits?
I can't find the Magical Crawdad in your list. Am I missing something? In my journal it's listed as aquatic, but not sure if it's categorized as a Profession or Drop pet.
Thanks for making this great guide!
This guide is fantastic! I plan on using it like a lifeline once MoP comes out
Definitely looking like Pokemon's own type effectiveness table. Not that that is a bad thing. Its worked relatively well (in balance), and I don't see why Blizzard can't add it as a fun addition. Maybe they can even learn from the mistakes Game Freak did.
hey, if you still need pics, i have a few of the ones you don't have. i'm on rivendare, either on Cyoti or Khalipso most of the time, just send me a pst.

edit: /facepalm i guess it would help to let ya know... Horde side. :D
Holy hell, a lot of effort has gone into this piece of beauty. I am absolutely loving it. The type chart is a nice homeage to the pokemon type chart on Serebii.net. My hat is off to you, Drahken, and you have more than earned your 5 stars from me.
You should really emphasize, that the table of effectiveness does not only depend on the involved pet's classification.
Each skill a pet can use is classified itself and, needless to say, these classifications can differ from the pet's class. So, a magical pet doesn't necessarily do 50 % more damage to flying ones, eg. if it uses a spell of a school other than magic.
In fact, the attacking row covers the spell a pet uses against another pet, the defending column stands for the class of the defending pet as the table pretends.
Wanted to note the Jade Crane Chick is only sold to Pandaren of either faction, by their respective vendors. :) Great guide! Love the tabbed categories on where/how to obtain the pets.
what I'd like to see added is a zone map by level
ex. Terrokar Forrest - Critter, Beast - level 19
what I'm looking for is a power leveling guild to speed quickly into grabbing some of the high level MoP pets. I've been semi successful up through the beginning of BC. Using beasts to cap critters, critters to cap undead, undead to cap humanoid. Stepping up 2 levels at a time.
Thumbs up for Jiji reference! RIP Phil :(
The chart is a amazing idea, simple & easy to understand. Will come in rather handy.
Really nice guide, well worth looking at.
You need to add
Clé de contact du robo-baston
to your Mechanical / vendor list.
While most of your information is correct, your information on the voodoo figurine is not. On my main character, Elarink (From Darkspear US), has obtained it from his archaeology at exactly 142 skill. Your guide, however, says it will nor appear until 500 skill. One of my friend's characters, Clarlar (Also from Darkspear US) found the fossilized hatchling at only 78 skill. I believe that this has nothing to do with skill, but there is just a small chance that you will get it.
I'd just like to add
to your list. It's (afaik) the only capturable magic pet under level 10 - so you can get
done without having to buy/craft/etc the pet.
Great job on the match-up table. Very handy quick ref. chart.
Terrible turnip is not a zone drop, you have change to get it every time you harvest a crop.
Thanks for the guide bro!
THANK YOU for making this guide! :D
