Negligible: you don't need defensive legendaries, kill command heals enough.

Easy: you don't need to watch your health if using a defensive legendary.

Medium: very low risk of dying if you pay a little attention.

Hard: requires careful management, avoiding damage when possible and cooldown rotation.

Very Hard: dying is very easy and sudden, no margin for error.

Negligible: you need to make an active effort to kill your pet.

Easy: a mend pet here and there is enough.

Medium: requires actual management and cooldowns, at most the pet dies once or twice.

Hard: your pet dies often, but with careful cooldown management less than once every 30 seconds (feign death, misdirection).

Very Hard: your pet gets wrecked, and its deaths endanger greatly your own survival.
